AMPHIJET (2) looks close to a win. Came from the back row for second at Bendigo two starts back then started from this barrier and got close at his latest appearance at Melton, beaten a head. Should enjoy a nice run from this favourable starting position and is proven at this circuit and distance. Leading hope. STEEL RULER (8) has been knocking on the door for a while and went close from this barrier last time at Stawell, finishing second and just 3 metres from the winner. Can settle just behind them and wait on the sprint lane. Could strike. Tricky draw for SUNSTAR (11) but he has won three in a row and four of his last five so must respect. CLARENDEN EXPRESS (9) was solid from this draw last stat at Melton.
