UFC Freedom 250 Betting Predictions

The UFC heads to the South Lawn for a stacked card featuring two title fights. Here's everything you need to know before the Octagon lands at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Dana White has confirmed UFC Freedom 250 will take place on the South Lawn of the White House on June 14, the first UFC event in history staged at a presidential residence. Formally unveiled during the UFC 326 broadcast on March 7, the card will air live on CBS before a projected crowd of approximately 5,000 spectators.

The event is anchored around America250, the national programme marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, with President Donald Trump set to oversee the evening. A budget of up to $60 million has reportedly been set aside for the occasion, per MMAMania.

Topuria and Pereira Lead Two Title Fights

Ilia Topuria, the undisputed UFC lightweight champion, takes on interim titleholder Justin Gaethje in the main event to unify the 155-pound belt. It marks Topuria's return to the Octagon following time away from competition, placing the division's two title holders on a direct collision course. If you're looking to bet on UFC, this lightweight unification bout shapes as one of the most significant matchups of the year.

In the co-main, Alex Pereira makes a substantial move, stepping up from UFC light heavyweight weight to challenge Ciryl Gane for the interim UFC heavyweight title at 265 pounds. The bout - confirmed by both MMAMania and Yahoo Sports - would see the reigning light heavyweight king campaign at a second weight class in one of the card's most compelling storylines.

Sean O'Malley and Aiemann Zahabi meet further down the card, while Michael Chandler takes on the rising Mauricio Ruffy at lightweight. Bo Nickal, unbeaten through his early UFC career, faces Kyle Daukaus at middleweight, and Diego Lopes meets Steve Garcia at featherweight to complete the main card.

White described extraordinary secrecy during the matchmaking process. "We bring in a whiteboard, we write the fights down, and then we erase them every time we have a matchmaking meeting," he said, as reported by MMAMania. Asked about Conor McGregor's potential inclusion on the card, White smiled and offered only: "We'll see, brother."

Unprecedented Setup at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

The venue configuration has no precedent in UFC history. Between 3,000 and 4,000 invitation-only guests will sit cageside on the South Lawn, while The Ellipse - President's Park South, roughly one-tenth of a mile from the Octagon - will host up to 85,000 additional spectators, according to MMAMania. No public tickets are available for the ringside section.

A question around the event's official standing has also emerged: MMAMania reports the D.C. Combat Sports Commission has indicated the bouts will be unsanctioned, meaning results may not count on fighters' professional records. The UFC has yet to publicly address the matter. Trump's established relationship with White - who appeared at multiple Trump campaign events - has been central to landing the card at the executive residence, with Trump confirmed to oversee the evening personally.

UFC Freedom 250 takes place on June 14 in Washington D.C., with Australian viewers able to watch live on CBS from 10:00 AM AEST on Monday June 15. For those wanting to follow the action, check the latest UFC fight card odds closer to fight night.
