The fights worth setting an alarm for

Jean Silva vs Jose Delgado

This was meant to be Silva against Yair Rodriguez, a genuine featherweight title eliminator with a Mexican star headlining the Mexican Independence Day card.

Rodriguez pulled out injured and Delgado stepped in.

Silva, ranked sixth at featherweight, arrives at 17-3 and bounced back from his loss to Diego Lopes by beating Arnold Allen at UFC 324.

Delgado is 12-2, unranked, and from Arizona, which gives the main event a local hook it would otherwise have lost entirely. He has won four of his five UFC outings.

Short-notice replacement does not mean easy night.

Brandon Moreno vs Joseph Morales

Moreno is the reason Noche UFC exists as a concept. The two-time flyweight champion has been the promotion's most bankable Mexican fighter for the better part of a decade and he co-headlines here against Morales, winner of The Ultimate Fighter 33.

Moreno sits at 23-10-2. The gap in profile is enormous, which is exactly the kind of fight that has gone sideways for former champions before.

Manon Fiorot vs Alexa Grasso

The best fight on the card. Fiorot is the number two ranked women's flyweight, Grasso is number three and a former champion who traded a trilogy with Valentina Shevchenko. Whoever wins is next in line, and Grasso has said as much publicly.

Grasso fighting on Noche UFC is the sort of booking that sells itself in Guadalajara and Phoenix alike.

Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Curtis Blaydes

Two top-10 heavyweights with completely different problems. Blaydes has been a fixture in the division's top five for years and knows exactly what he is. Cortes-Acosta has climbed steadily and hits hard enough to end any heavyweight round early.
