In beating Allen, Silva has defeated a fighter now ranked fifth in the featherweight order or merit, while there’s no shame in defeat to Lopes – he’s arguably the second best in the division behind Australian star Alexander Volkanovski.

Aside from a couple of exhibition grappling bouts, Silva has not fought since January… meaning he should be in peak physical condition heading into this showdown.

Can the same be said for Delgado? Well, possibly not. He was involved in a particularly gruelling encounter with Bashi last time out that went the distance, with just an eight-week turnaround to UFC Noche 4.
