FIFA Club World Cup Betting Tips: Teams to Watch
11/06/2025|Giovanni Angioni|Soccer Tips & Predictions

Although it’s been around for years, FIFA’s Club World Cup is getting a facelift in 2025 with an expanded field and a huge prize money purse.

Many of the best clubs in the world will fight it out for the trophy, but who are the most likely contenders and therefore the sharpest bets?

Watch the tournament unfold from Sunday morning (10:00 am AEST) until the final on July 13. You’ll find competitive FIFA Club World Cup betting odds and markets at Sportsbet.

The European Powerhouses

The Club World Cup was first held in its modern guise in 2005. And over the course of the next two decades, teams from only five countries have lifted the trophy: Spain, England, Italy, Germany and Brazil.

In 19 editions, clubs from Europe have dominated this competition and been crowned champions on 16 occasions, which gives punters a sense of where to align their bets in 2025.

Leading the way in the betting is Real Madrid, who have a fine pedigree in the Club World Cup. But after being knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter finals and losing the La Liga title to Barcelona, are the Galacticos a vulnerable favourite?

PSG will also be heavily backed, but you wonder if their exertions during the 2024/25 season will count against them here. The team that wins the Club World Cup will have to play seven games and win most of them, which may be a tall order to the Champions League winners – their remarkable talent notwithstanding.

Manchester City head to the United States with a point to prove after a trophy-less season. They have been handed a straightforward group and could have Rodri, their midfield metronome, back from long-term injury. Pep Guardiola’s side may just be tough to beat in America.

Bayern Munich regained the German Bundesliga title but they, like Real Madrid, suffered a disappointingly early exit from the Champions League. But this is a club that knows how to win.

Inter Milan lost in the Champions League final and were denied the Italian Serie A title on the final day of the season… Can they pick themselves up from such emotion here?

The Dark Horses from the Rest of the World

The history books suggest that if there’s going to be a non-European winner, it will be a club from Brazil.

Botafogo, the 2024 Copa Libertadores winners, have been paired in a group with PSG and Atletico Madrid, so they are easy to swerve. The preference might just be for Flamengo , who have a more agreeable group.

Al-Hilal, the AFC Champions League semi-finalists, may also be of interest. Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo, Kalidou Koulibaly, Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrovic… they bring a strong squad, that’s for sure.
