Quick Picks

Our pick: Over 2.5 goals involving most of the teams involved in European soccer

Value bet: Under 2.5 goals involving non-European soccer clubs

Long shot: Tottenham and Forest to draw 1-1

Betting Preview

There was a lot of movement in the league table after MW30, with many of them directly impacting the importance of MW31.

West Ham's draw against Man City makes the game between Tottenham and Forest (who both picked up draws in MW30) even more significant in the fight to survive. Leeds also secured a point and will face a tough Brentford side at home, where they'll have to make Elland Road a fortress again.

Man Utd will want to build on the win when they take on a Bournemouth team that is proving difficult to break down, while Chelsea will need a positive result against Everton to keep their Champions League hopes alive, as they remain in the balance.

Betting Markets to Watch

While there's no title race being determined this weekend with Arsenal and Man City in the League Cup final this weekend, we think there'll be value worth exploring in the relegation battle in MW31.

Goals are going to be needed, but games may be cagey. The 'Under 2.5 goals' could be worth value, especially in the Tottenham vs Forest and Aston Villa vs West Ham games.

Seven teams will have been involved in European football, excluding the title chasers, which is why we think there could be goals in those games. English clubs struggled in European competition in their first legs, with most chasing from behind. This could mean they are fatigued, with the short turnaround far from ideal.

As a result, we think the 'Over 2.5 goals' market involving the teams in Europe is worth keeping in mind.

Our Prediction

Check the latest EPL betting odds at Sportsbet.

We think the most likely outcome for this upcoming Premier League MW31 is that there will be goals in the games featuring the teams that are involved in Europe this week. Squads will change, which could leave them vulnerable against opponents who are rested and have had a week's preparation.

Our long shot is that Tottenham and Nottingham Forest draw, with the game finishing 1-1. With both involved in Europe, we think this game could be cagey, given the battle they both find themselves in at the bottom of the table.
