Betting Preview
Thomas Tuchel was entrusted with leading the team once again following their disappointing World Cup elimination to Argentina in the semi-finals, and England should have learned from that heartbreak.
Tuchel, though, saw his group of men struggle to use the numerical advantage they had following an early sending-off against Czechia. Pavel Sulc was shown a red card after a VAR intervention following a naughty tackle on Elliott Anderson.
However, they reappeared after the break and took just two minutes to make that man advantage count.
Anthony Gordon scored a headed goal inside the first couple of minutes after some good work from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who justified his spot at right-back after being the ninth the German manager has selected since taking the role.
Twenty minutes later, Harry Kane put his missed penalty against Spain behind him and scored against Czechia to take him to 87 international goals in 123 caps. It is a remarkable return that puts him in rare company when you look at who has scored the most goals in football history.
While England appeared to struggle at times, they dominated the match. They had 21 shots, but found the target just six times.
Czechia knew they’d have a tough evening – even tougher after Sulc’s red card. Santi Denia’s side couldn’t produce too much, especially after playing 65 minutes with 10 men. They had just five attempts on goal (one on target), with Sulc likely to have been their main creator had he been on the pitch.
The Three Lions rediscovered their goalscoring form when they netted seven against Croatia at the weekend – with a further two goals for Kane – a sign to consider ahead of Wednesday’s clash.
Betting Markets to Watch
England are considered huge favourites to win at Wembley, leaving very little value in the moneyline, so it helps to understand what the win draw win market means before backing the outcome.
England to win to Nil has better value than the straight moneyline market if you think this game will be a replica of the previous meeting. The Three Lions have made a habit of keeping clean sheets in home qualifying games.
Indeed, Tuchel’s side didn’t concede a single goal in their qualification for the winter tournament.
A little more value can be found in the Over 2.5 Goals market, though it’s not as long as it should be given how they played in Czechia.
The reason for this could be because England are more dominant when at home, which is perhaps why there’s better value in the Over 3.5 Goals market, especially after netting seven recently.
Kane as an anytime goalscorer would only offer a small return, so it may make sense to look elsewhere in the goalscorer markets…
Our Prediction

Our prediction is a likely England win. The Three Lions should have more than enough to beat Czechia. If you're new to betting on European soccer, it's worth getting across the markets before locking anything in.
Our long shot was going to be for the BTTS to hit. While clean sheets are often associated with England in qualifying competitions, Tuchel’s defence isn’t the strongest part of his side.
However, Morgan Rogers to score looks interesting. He got one late on as a substitute against Croatia and could start on Wednesday. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Chelsea man on the scoresheet at Wembley.
