Aston Villa vs Fenerbahce Prediction and Betting Tips

Aston Villa vs Fenerbahce Prediction and Betting Tips

Aston Villa haven't won a home game this season. Three tries at Villa Park have produced two defeats and Saturday's 2-2 draw with Brentford, where they conceded an equaliser two minutes after going ahead.

Now they face a Fenerbahce side that has scored 11 goals in its last two league games. Unai Emery's team won the Europa League last season and opened this Champions League campaign with a 3-2 win at Club Brugge, but the home form and an injury list that keeps growing make this one harder than the badge suggests.

Quick Picks

Our Pick: Both teams to score: Yes

Alternative Pick: Nicolas Jackson anytime goalscorer

Villa's Back Line Is Running Out of Bodies

Amadou Onana suffered an ACL injury playing for Belgium and is likely out for the season. Ian Maatsen is out with an ankle injury, Matteo Ruggeri came off at half-time against Brentford and is a doubt, and Pau Torres hasn't played since mid-September.

With both recognised left-backs missing, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is filling in. It shows in the numbers. Villa have conceded in eight of their nine competitive games, and both teams have scored in each of their last five. They sit 15th in the Premier League.

  • Competition: UEFA Champions League, league phase, Matchday 2
  • Venue: Villa Park, Birmingham
  • Date: Thursday 15 October 2026
  • Kick-off: 6:00am AEDT (8:00pm local)
  • Form (last five, latest first): Aston Villa D-W-W-L-W, Fenerbahce W-W-D-D-L

Fenerbahce Arrive in Form

Ismail Kartal's side drew 1-1 with Roma on Matchday 1 and have since put eight past Eyüpspor and three past Rizespor. Marco Asensio is back from injury and scored on Saturday, and Fenerbahce have scored in six of their last seven.

History is on Villa's side, though. They've won all three competitive meetings, including a 1-0 win in Istanbul in last season's Europa League. This is the first Fenerbahce vs Aston Villa meeting at Villa Park since 1977.

Aston Villa vs Fenerbahce Prediction

Both teams to score is the pick. Villa's makeshift defence keeps leaking goals, and Fenerbahce have the forwards to punish it. At the other end, Villa still create: they've scored in every one of those five games where both sides found the net.

Nicolas Jackson is our alternative. He scored in Brugge and again against Brentford, and he's the man Villa's attack runs through.

The risk is Fenerbahce's away defence, which has kept three clean sheets on the road in the Süper Lig. Most of those came against weaker domestic sides, and Villa at home will be a different test.
