Player Profile - Jordan Bos

22/05/2026|SB Staff|Australia

Jordan Bos is one of Australia’s most exciting young football exports and a rising star of the Socceroos.

Playing as an attack-minded left back, Bos has quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic fullbacks in European football, a player equally at home playing forward as he is defending.

Born and raised in the Melbourne suburb of Point Cook, Bos grew up playing junior football for Hoppers Crossing SC before joining Melbourne City’s academy at age 14.

He is of Dutch descent and is the older brother of Mainz 05 player Kasey Bos. Not a bad footballing family.

After winning back-to-back A-League premierships in 2021/22 and 2022/23 with Melbourne City, while being named Young Footballer of the Year, Bos sealed a record-breaking transfer to Belgian side KVC Westerlo in 2023.

He was the most expensive domestic transfer in A-League history at the time. Since he moved to Dutch giants Feyenoord in July last year on a four-year deal, he became the first Australian ever to win the Eredivisie Player of the Month Award in September of 2025.

A Feyenoord fan from birth thanks to his Dutch roots, Bos has achieved his lifelong dream playing for the club, and he’s making the most of it by racking up 7 assists and three goals in the 2025-26 Eredivisie season.

Jordan Bos has steadily grown into a reliable option for the Australia men’s national soccer team, showcasing his attacking intent and composure when called upon.

Since making his international debut, Bos has impressed with his ability to contribute in both defence and attack, offering overlapping runs and quality delivery in wide areas that suit the Socceroos’ evolving play.

On the international stage, the left-footed fullback has demonstrated a clutch ability with his first international goal against India in the 2024 AFC Asian Cup in his first thirty seconds on the pitch helping the side seal a 2-0 victory.

Bos also kicked a decisive goal in the 85th minute, where he capitalised on a defensive error to help Australia defeat Cameroon 1-0 in March earlier this year.

Looking ahead to the World Cup, Bos shapes a genuine contender to cement a regular role in the squad, particularly as Australia looks to inject youth and energy into its defensive stocks.

He could play an important part in the Socceroos’ campaign, providing depth and versatility against high-level international opposition, competing against experienced defender Aziz Behich for the starting left-back position.
