Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina Prediction

Switzerland and Bosnia & Herzegovina will view their upcoming contest as an ideal opportunity to improve their chances of advancing to the next stage of the competition.

Both drew their opening contest against Qatar and Canada, respectively, after giving up late goals.

To celebrate the momentous occasion that is the World Cup, Sportsbet is bringing back its exclusive Super Sub feature!

How does Super Sub work? Well, it’s very simple. Place a bet on select player markets throughout the World Cup and if that player is subbed off your bet rolls over to the new player that replaced them.

For example, if you’ve bet on Kylian Mbappe to score during one of France’s matches and during that match he fails to do so and is directly substituted for Jean-Philippe Mateta who ends up scoring instead, your original bet on Mbappe is paid as a winner!

Super Sub is not exclusive to goalscoring markets either, it also applies to anytime assist, player to win one or more fouls, shots on target and more, just make sure to read all the T&Cs before locking in your bet.

Quick Picks

Our pick: Switzerland to win

Value bet: BTTS to hit

Long shot: 1-1 Draw Correct Score

Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina prediction

Despite being shocked by Qatar, Murat Yakin’s Switzerland have been made the early big favourites to win, as our Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina betting odds page shows.

However, there may be better value in the ‘Draw’ market. Including qualifiers, each of Bosnia and Herzegovina's last four matches at the major tournament have resulted in a draw at the end of regulation time.

Over the same five-match period, the Swiss have had three draws.

Nonetheless, we think Switzerland are more likely to record a win due to the quality they have, but as the draw is a possibility, the ‘Switzerland And Draw’ outcome in the ‘Double Chance’ may be potentially a safer option.

Our pick is for Switzerland to be likely winners.

Switzerland vs Bosnia & Herzegovina score prediction

Based on what has already happened at the current tournament, and what occurred during qualifiers in the lead-up to the event, there appears to be value in the goal markets.

Albeit a long shot for us, the ‘Draw 1-1’ market appears to have some of the better value on offer heading into this encounter.

Both recorded 1-1 draws in their opening games of the tournament, while each of Bosnia and Herzegovina's last four main tournament matches has ended 1-1 at the end of regulation time, including qualifiers.

By extension, we think there’s value in the BTTS hitting. Including qualifiers, the 'Both Teams to Score' market has hit during regulation time in each of Bosnia and Herzegovina's last seven matches, while Switzerland has seen it hit in their last three.

This could be a game in which both decide to attack the opposition and win three points, as neither will want to leave it until the final round of matches to potentially qualify.

As a result, we think there’s value in the ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market given that we think Switzerland will be likely winners.

The game is likely to open up, and Switzerland appear to have more overall quality than Sergej Barbarez’s side.

A 1-0 halftime lead for Bosnia & Herzegovina also offers value worth exploring. The Bosnians have led by this scoreline in their last two matches at this major tournament.

It’s a longer shot than a 1-1 scoreline at the end of the game, as Switzerland scored early against Qatar, albeit with a controversial penalty.

If you fancy stacking this one with other group games, it's worth knowing how a multi bet works before locking it in, and you can check the rest of the World Cup betting markets to see where the value sits.

Player markets to watch

Breel Embolo scored that penalty and arguably offers the most attacking threat for Switzerland, which is why he has value as an anytime goalscorer.

He netted three goals in the 2022 edition and has already opened his account for this year’s.

Noah Okafor could also offer value if he plays. Although he hasn’t scored for Switzerland in his last three, he had a good Premier League campaign with Leeds, scoring eight goals in 28 matches.

For Bosnia, Haris Tabakovic has good value as an anytime goalscorer if he plays (missed the Canada game).

With 13 goals scored last season in the Bundesliga for his club, the Borussia Monchengladbach attacker has also scored a goal in three of his last four competitive fixtures for his country.

Edin Dzeko is slightly shorter in value compared to Tabakovic, and still offers good value.

The 40-year-old also missed the game against Canada due to a knock, and he’ll likely be the focal point if he gets on the pitch this time around.
