The Swedes managed to secure their place with a 3-1 victory away to Ukraine (in Spain), while Poland were 2-1 victors against Albania.
Quick Picks
Our pick: Poland to win
Value bet: 'Poland to Qualify'
Long shot: '2-1 Poland correct score'
Betting Preview
The Swedes appear to have picked up some form and momentum under the guidance of Graham Potter at the right time. After a dismal qualification campaign, the former Chelsea boss has had a win, a draw, and a defeat in his three games in charge. As we've noted previously, things appear to be on the up for them.
They made the most of the limited chances they had against Ukraine, scoring three goals from the three attempts on target (six overall) they had. A Viktor Gyokeres hat-trick put the Eastern Europeans to the sword, despite the Scandinavians having just 37% of the ball.
Poland came from behind to defeat Albania on Friday, needing the second half to advance to the final playoff game in Path B. After going a goal behind just before half-time, Robert Lewandowski managed to score just after the hour before Piotr Zielinski added the winner 10 minutes later to put the Jan Urban-led nation through.
In that game, they had 49% of the ball but made the most of their chances. They had 13 shots compared to Albania's 7, while three were on target.
Betting Markets to Watch
These two nations have plenty of history on the soccer field. Sweden hold 15 victories, with Poland having nine. There have been four draws. The last time these two teams met was in 2022 in FIFA World Cup qualification for that year's edition: Poland won 2-0 in the exact same scenario that both nations find themselves heading into on Wednesday.
Sweden are considered big favourites in this upcoming contest, but this leaves us to feel that there's value worth exploring in Poland. Poland have too much class and tournament pedigree to be rolled over easily; they can keep it tight and then rely on Lewandowski or a set‑piece to win it.
We think the game could be tight, which is why we think there's better value in the 'Poland' bet in the 'To Qualify for the Next Round' market. In our opinion, we think the 'Over 2.5 Goals' offers value, as both can score multiple times, while they have each shown they are vulnerable in defence.
The BTTS hitting also offers value, as this happened in their previous playoff matches this year. If you're looking to combine multiple legs for higher odds, consider building a bet with multiple selections around these markets.
Our Prediction

We think the most likely winner is Poland, but this game could require additional time. For that reason, we think there's better value in the 'Poland' bet in the 'To Qualify for the Next Round' market. With both teams fighting for a spot in the tournament, the stakes couldn't be higher for World Cup betting enthusiasts.
Our long shot is for 'Poland 2 - 1' as a correct score, as they have the quality to win, while we still don't quite know what to expect from Sweden.
