Netherlands vs Morocco Prediction - World Cup Round of 32
29/06/2026|SB Staff|World Cup 2026 Tips & Predictions
The Netherlands and Morocco will go toe-to-toe in the Round of 32 to keep their place in the competition and go as far as possible. They’ll meet on Tuesday, June 30, with kick-off at 11:00 AEST.
The Netherlands secured their place after coming out on top in Group D, beating Tunisia 3-1 in their final game to win it with seven points. Morocco would finish second in Group C behind Brazil, after they secured two wins from their three games and a draw.
To celebrate the momentous occasion that is the World Cup, Sportsbet is bringing back its exclusive Super Sub feature!
How does Super Sub work? Well, it’s very simple. Place a bet on select player markets throughout the Men’s World Cup and if that player is subbed off your bet rolls over to the new player that replaced them.
For example, if you’ve bet on Kylian Mbappe to score during one of France’s matches and during that match he fails to do so and is directly substituted for Jean-Philippe Mateta who ends up scoring instead, your original bet on Mbappe is paid as a winner!
Super Sub is not exclusive to goalscoring markets either, it also applies to anytime assist, player to win one or more fouls, shots on target and more, just make sure to read all the T&Cs before locking in your bet.
Quick Picks
Our pick: Netherlands to win
Value bet: Over 2.5 Goals
Long shot: Netherlands to win 2-1
The Netherlands vs Morocco prediction
This is likely to be one of the closest Round of 32 matches of the tournament when viewed on paper and by what happened in the Group Stage.
Neither country experienced defeat, with both winning their final two games after securing draws in their first. It’s also possible to argue that they were the better teams in those opening fixtures and should have won.
Still, the pre-match moneyline odds appear to favour the Europeans in this contest, with Ronald Koeman’s side the early favourites. They have a good record when it comes to playing against African nations in this tournament, having won their last five in a row.
However, Morocco are no easy team, as Brazil found out. Mohamed Ouahbi’s side won all eight of their qualifying fixtures, and haven’t lost a soccer match since August 2025. That stretch involves 32 games.
Still, we think that with the quality that the Netherlands possesses and the squad depth available to Koeman, it should be enough, which is why we think a Netherlands win is the most likely outcome.
The Netherlands vs Morocco score prediction
Again, while things are likely to be tight in this encounter, we still think the value is in the ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market, despite a lot of the data suggesting the under.
Including qualifiers, the 'Over 2.5 Goals' market has hit in seven of the Netherlands' last eight matches in this tournament. Morocco showed they can keep things tight, but they were also exposed by Haiti in their most recent game, as they conceded twice after limiting Scotland and Brazil to one.
Both teams have been able to score with some regularity, although the European nation have been far more clinical. In the tournament, they hit the ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market for goals themselves in two of their three games, failing to clear it in their first encounter by falling one short.
The BTTS has value to hit, with the 'Both Teams to Score' market having hit in each of the Netherlands' last five competition matches. It has also hit in two of Morocco’s three.
We think the most likely score will be 2-1 to the Netherlands.
If you fancy stacking this clash with a few others, have a squiz at how a multi bet works, and the World Cup betting hub is worth a look before you lock anything in.
Player markets to watch
Brian Brobbey continues to offer value as an anytime goalscorer for the Netherlands, having scored his third in three games against Tunisia. However, his value is arguably better in the first goalscorer market, as he has also been the player to score first in those two appearances (aside from the own goal by Tunisia).
The Oranje managed to score from a corner kick through Jan Paul van Hecke against the African nation, value in him and Virgil van Dijk. They offer significant height in the box and can outpower their defenders if they get the chance to get their head to the ball.
Morocco’s Saibari offers value as an anytime goalscorer, as he leads the team with three goals this tournament. He is the joint-leading scorer in his nation’s Finals history, and has netted in every game so far. Joining Bayern Munich after the competition, he’ll likely pose the biggest threat to the Netherlands’ goal.
