Morocco vs France Prediction - World Cup Quarter Final

08/07/2026|SB Staff|World Cup 2026 Tips & Predictions
France and Morocco

France and Morocco will clash in the quarter-finals of this year’s competition, having met in the previous edition of the tournament in 2022 at the semi-finals stage.

It’s arguably one of the ties of the round, with Didier Deschamps’ side and Mohamed Ouahbi’s team among two of those who have impressed most in this and 2022’s tournament.

France reached this stage after overcoming a physical match against Paraguay 1-0, while Morocco defeated Canada 3-0 in their Round of 16 tie. Now, they’ll face each other on Friday, July 10, at 06:00 AEST.

To celebrate the momentous occasion that is the World Cup, Sportsbet is bringing back its exclusive Super Sub feature!

How does Super Sub work? Well, it’s very simple. Place a bet on select player markets throughout the Men’s World Cup and if that player is subbed off your bet rolls over to the new player that replaced them.

For example, if you’ve bet on Kylian Mbappe to score during one of France’s matches and during that match he fails to do so and is directly substituted for Jean-Philippe Mateta who ends up scoring instead, your original bet on Mbappe is paid as a winner!

Super Sub is not exclusive to goalscoring markets either, it also applies to anytime assist, player to win one or more fouls, shots on target and more, just make sure to read all the T&Cs before locking in your bet.

Quick Picks

Our pick: France to qualify

Value bet: BTTS to hit

Long shot: Draw 1-1 in regulation

France vs Morocco prediction

France have been made big moneyline favourites ahead of this game, perhaps due to the fact that they have won each of their last nine Knockout Stage matches as a favourite. While we believe that they will likely win, the odds aren’t necessarily that appealing, and value could be in the ‘Draw’ when looking at 90 minutes.

Morocco have been exceptional throughout the tournament and have made life difficult for every team they have faced so far.

Finishing second in Group B behind Brazil, the Moroccans defeated the Netherlands in a penalty shootout in the Round of 32 before dispatching co-hosts Canada with ease.

France managed to get past Paraguay, but they were made to work hard for it – and it is likely to be the same when they take on the African nation. As a result, we think there’s better potential value worth exploring in the ‘France to win in ET’ market.

France vs Morocco Score Prediction

These two have met six times previously, with France holding the upper hand. They have won four, with two draws.

With the attacking qualities that both of these teams possess, goals look likely in this encounter. However, Morocco could be without one of their key talisman, while they have also been very tight defensively.

For instance, the 'Under 2.5 Goals' market has hit in seven of Morocco's last eight tournament matches as an underdog. With a tight game expected, we think there is a good chance that this will hit once again.

We do think there’s better value to explore in the BTTS hitting. The odds are longer, as the 'Both Teams to Score' market has failed to hit in four of France's last five quarter-final matches in this competition. However, they’re coming up against a Morocco side that have continually found a route to goal and have scored in every game so far.

If you want a long shot, the ‘France - To Win to Nil’ market has value in terms of the score, as they have won each of their last three Knockout Stage matches as a favourite without conceding. Still, we think there’s better value in the BTTS hitting, despite France not shipping a goal since the group stage.

Our correct score prediction is 1-1 in regulation, which is also a long shot we think has value.

Player Markets to Watch

Kylian Mbappe remains an attractive bet for many, as he continues to be the main man for France. He has seven goals in this year’s tournament, including the winner against Paraguay in the previous round.

His value is short in the anytime market, but it is better in the first goalscorer market. Including qualifiers, Mbappe has been the first goal-scorer in six of his last seven appearances in this tournament.

He has scored two goals in regulation time in four of France's last six tournament matches, suggesting there is value in him to score 2+ goals.

Michael Olise has value in the ‘To Score or Assist’ market, as he continues to be the main playmaker. He is the first player to create more than 10 chances in open play, complete more than 10 dribbles and thread more than 10 through balls in a debut World Cup since Zico (Brazil) in 1978.
