To celebrate the momentous occasion that is the World Cup, Sportsbet is bringing back its exclusive Super Sub feature!
How does Super Sub work? Well, it’s very simple. Place a bet on select player markets throughout the 2026 Men’s World Cup and if that player is subbed off your bet rolls over to the new player that replaced them.
For example, if you’ve bet on Kylian Mbappe to score during one of France’s matches and during that match he fails to do so and is directly substituted for Jean-Philippe Mateta who ends up scoring instead, your original bet on Mbappe is paid as a winner!
Super Sub is not exclusive to goalscoring markets either, it also applies to anytime assist, player to win one or more fouls, shots on target and more, just make sure to read all the T&Cs before locking in your bet.
Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina prediction
Our prediction is that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the likely winners. Canada have lost their last six matches in this major tournament.
Aside from playing in the last edition in 2022, they’ve only played in the 1986 edition of the competition and lost each of those.
Canada will have history on their side in this fixture, with host nations winning 63.8% of their World Cup Group Stage matches (prior to 2026), but Bosnia offer something about them that suggests they could beat one of the hosts.
A penalty shootout victory over Italy to qualify could give them all the confidence they need.
Interestingly, Bosnia and Herzegovina come in as huge underdogs in early betting odds; this is likely due to Canada having home-field advantage and Bosnia’s only appearance being in 2014.
Still, they won a group game in that edition (beat Iran 3-1) and will enter the game in similar form to Canada after pre-tournament warm-ups.
It’ll be a game that neither Jesse Marsch nor Sergej Barbarez will want to lose, simply because they know an encounter against Switzerland exists in this group.
With Qatar the other nation in Group B, they’ll feel they’ll have the quality to win that one, leaving this one potentially crucial in terms of getting enough points to qualify for the knockout round.
Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina score prediction
We think a close encounter could be on the cards between these two nations, especially given how both have performed in recent matches in terms of goals.
Including qualifiers, the 'Both Teams to Score' market has hit during regulation time in each of Bosnia and Herzegovina's last six major tournament matches, while the 'Over 2.5 Goals' market has hit in each of Canada's last two tournament matches.
The '1st Half Over 2.5 Goals' market has hit in each of Canada's last two tournament matches.
However, the '1st Half Over 1.5 Goals' offers better value heading into this meeting, as both nations appear to have tightened up in defence in recent outings.
Our prediction is Bosnia to win 2-1.
Canada vs Bosnia and Herzegovina head-to-head record
Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina have never met before, so the Toronto fixture will be their first meeting at any level.
Player markets to watch
Each nation has a couple of attacking players that may offer value in player prop markets.
Canada have attackers such as Jonathan David and Cyle Larin in their squad. Although neither has scored for their nation in their last three games, they’re both coming off semi-decent club soccer campaigns.
David played his debut season for Juventus, and despite initially struggling, he finished the campaign with six Serie A goals and two Champions League goals.
Larin, meanwhile, was a key threat in Southampton’s infamous playoff campaign, scoring eight times in 18 games before making his move permanent this month after a loan spell.
Bosnia have players who are perhaps more established in major soccer competitions.
Edin Dzeko is going to be the biggest name on the pitch, despite being 40. In 148 games for Bosnia, he has 73 goals; almost one every other game. That strike-rate continued with Schalke, as he had six goals in 11 matches as they won promotion to the Bundesliga.
Another player who has performed in German soccer is Haris Tabakovic.
The attacker scored 13 times in 32 matches for Borussia Monchengladbach during a loan spell from Hoffenheim. He has only played for his nation 10 times, but has four goals, including three in his last four, so could be one to watch.
