Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Qatar Prediction
23/06/2026|Giovanni Angioni|World Cup 2026 Tips & Predictions
Group B wraps up in Seattle with Bosnia & Herzegovina taking on Qatar at Lumen Field, and both sides are staring down the barrel.
Sitting on one point each after two rounds, this is a dead rubber for top-two qualification but carries massive significance for third-place hopes. Neither team can afford another slip.
Bosnia and Herzegovina showed real fight in their opening draw against Canada, taking the lead through a Lukic header before being pegged back late. The Switzerland match was a different story.
Down to 10 men after Tarik Muharemovic's red card in the 80th minute, Bosnia leaked three goals in the final stretch to lose 4-1. The scoreline flatters Switzerland more than it damns Bosnia, though. For 80 minutes it was a contest.
Qatar, on the other hand, are in genuine crisis. After scrapping a late equaliser against Switzerland on matchday one, they were torn apart 6-0 by Canada.
Two red cards saw them finish with nine men, and the defensive shambles that preceded those dismissals was alarming. Julen Lopetegui's side now have to pick themselves up off the canvas with two key players suspended.
To celebrate the momentous occasion that is the World Cup, Sportsbet is bringing back its exclusive Super Sub feature!
How does Super Sub work? Well, it’s very simple. Place a bet on select player markets throughout the Men’s World Cup and if that player is subbed off your bet rolls over to the new player that replaced them.
For example, if you’ve bet on Kylian Mbappe to score during one of France’s matches and during that match he fails to do so and is directly substituted for Jean-Philippe Mateta who ends up scoring instead, your original bet on Mbappe is paid as a winner!
Super Sub is not exclusive to goalscoring markets either, it also applies to anytime assist, player to win one or more fouls, shots on target and more, just make sure to read all the T&Cs before locking in your bet.
Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Qatar Prediction
Bosnia and Herzegovina to win and over 2.5 goals is our play here. Qatar's defence has been an open invitation across two matches, conceding seven goals and looking fragile even before the red cards compounded things against Canada.
With both Homam Al Amin and Assim Madibo suspended, the spine of that defensive unit is weakened further.
Bosnia carry genuine quality through the middle of the park and up front, and Edin Dzeko remains a serious weapon. Even without him at his sharpest, they created enough against Canada to suggest they'll carve out chances against this Qatar rearguard.
The over 2.5 goals line looks a strong pairing with a Bosnia win. Both teams need a result to keep any mathematical hope alive as a best third-placed side, which kills off any incentive to sit deep and protect a point.
Qatar's attackers still carry a threat. Akram Afif and Almoez Ali showed enough against Switzerland to prove they can hurt teams, and Bosnia's back line is hardly watertight after conceding four to the Swiss.
Expect goals at both ends, but as our Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Qatar betting odds page suggests, Bosnia should have too much firepower overall.
Player Markets to Watch
Our pick: Edin Dzeko to score anytime.
The 40-year-old legend has been managing a shoulder injury throughout the tournament, sitting on the bench against Canada before starting the Switzerland match where he logged limited minutes.
With just 64 cumulative minutes since his March shoulder injury, Dzeko is still working back to full sharpness. But against a Qatar defence missing two suspended starters and reeling from a six-goal hammering, he'll fancy his chances.
Dzeko has 73 international goals and knows where the net is. At generous anytime scorer odds, he offers real value.
Our pick: Akram Afif to score anytime.
Qatar's talisman is their most likely route to goal. He was the brightest spark in the Switzerland draw and has the technical ability to punish a Bosnia defence that fell apart under pressure in the second half against the Swiss.
Even in a losing cause, Afif has the quality to find the back of the net.
Our pick: Ermedin Demirovic over 0.5 shots on target. Bosnia's frontman has been their most active attacker through two matches and should get plenty of opportunities against a depleted Qatar backline. With Qatar likely needing to push forward themselves, Demirovic will find space to work in, and he rarely passes up the chance to test the keeper.
