Women’s State of Origin Game 3 Predictions 2026

26/05/2026|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The New South Wales Women’s Origin team will head to the Gold Coast with history in their sights this week.

After wrapping up the 2026 Women’s State of Origin series with a gritty 14-10 win at Suncorp Stadium last start, the Blues now have the chance to complete their first series whitewash.

Queensland, meanwhile, are playing for pride, which has always been more than enough motivation for those north of the border.

The Maroons have lost the first two games of the series but will be desperate to avoid a clean sweep in front of their home fans at Cbus Super Stadium. Can they do it?

Game 3 has all the ingredients for a fierce Origin finish: a wounded Queensland side, a settled NSW team chasing history, and several key player matchups that could lead to another classic collision in the interstate arena.

For the full team lists for both states, as well as expert analysis and betting tips, check out our Women’s State of Origin 2026 Game 3 predictions below.

Women’s State of Origin Game 3 Predictions and Betting Tips 2026

Head-to-Head Prediction

Unsurprisingly, after winning the opening two games of the series and securing the shield for 2026, the Blues are the overwhelming favourites in the H2H market here.

Team news will have also swayed the markets with Queensland being hit hard by injury before Game 3.

Captain Tamika Upton has been ruled out, along with strike winger Julia Robinson and prop Makenzie Weale.

Those are three major losses. Upton is the Maroons’ attacking leader and widely regarded to be the best player in the women’s game.

Meanwhile, Robinson brings power and finishing on the edge, and Weale is a key part of their middle rotation.

South of the border, things couldn’t be more different as the Blues have named an unchanged team after sealing the series at Suncorp. That stability is a major advantage.

NSW have not just won the first two games of this series, but they have also won four of the last five Women’s Origin matches.

However, Queensland did win Game 3 in both 2024 and 2025, so they know how to lift at this point in the piece and will be desperate to avoid a historic NSW clean sweep.

All in all though, losing Upton, Robinson and Weale takes away too much class, structure and power.

Queensland have also averaged only eight points per game across the 2026 series, which is a concern against a NSW side that defends well and controls momentum.

The Blues’ unchanged lineup gives them a clear edge. Their combinations are settled, their confidence is high, and their best attacking players are in form.

First Try Scorer Prediction

The first try market points toward NSW’s outside backs. Queensland will likely start with energy, but the Blues have the stronger attacking shape and more reliable edge combinations.

Jaime Chapman is a strong option after scoring in Game 2. She has a proven Origin strike rate and knows how to finish when NSW shift the ball wide.

Jessica Sergis is also a major threat, especially given her recent try-scoring form. But Chapman’s speed on the flank makes her a great pick to open the scoring if NSW create early space.

Betting tip: Jamie Chapman

Player of the Match Prediction

Speaking of Jess Sergis however, she looks to be the standout Player of the Match candidate here.

Sergis has been outstanding this series and was one of NSW’s best in Game 2, producing a try, an assist, strong running metres and numerous tackle breaks.

With Queensland missing key outside backs, she should get chances to dominate her edge again. If NSW win well, her impact in attack could be impossible to ignore.

Jesse Southwell, Olivia Kernick and Jaime Chapman are also strong contenders, but Sergis has the form, influence and big-game presence to take out this market.

Betting tip: Jessica Sergis.
