Wests Tigers vs Parramatta Eels Prediction - Round 7 2025
17/04/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips
You’d be forgiven for forgetting the Tigers actually have to play a footy game this long weekend, as no one has been talking about that.

Obviously all the talk leading into the traditional Easter Monday clash between the Wests Tigers and Parramatta Eels has been about Lachlan Galvin.

The boom youngster announced earlier in the week that he would be leaving the Tigers at the end of 2026 to test the open market and now all hell has broken loose.

Wests have subsequently dropped Galvin and it’s likely he may never play for them again if reports are to be believed.

This is obviously not ideal preparation for an NRL match, but luckily for the Tigers, their opponents the Eels aren’t exactly world beaters.

It was a case of one step forward, 50 steps back for Parramatta last week as they went from a one-point win over the Dragons, to conceding a half century to the Raiders up in Darwin.

The good news is that skipper and main man, halfback Mitchell Moses, is back early from a foot injury, just in time to face his former employers.

Can the inclusion of Moses and the exclusion of Galvin swing this one in Parra’s favour? Or can Benji’s boys block out the noise and prove no one man is bigger than the club?

Let’s take a look at how these two teams will line up, along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Tigers vs Eels prediction.

Tigers vs Eels Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

At the start of the week, we had the Eels branded as untippable and the Tigers earmarked as comfortable victors here.

It’s funny how much can change in just a few short days in the world of Rugby League.

The Galvin bombshell, the following mutiny and now the return of Mitchell Moses for Parramatta has flipped this one on our heads.

Even the most resilient club would struggle to deal with this much drama, let alone the one that has collected the last three wooden spoons.

This has been set up for a Blue and Gold ambush in a high-scoring thriller in our opinion.

Betting tip: Parramatta Eels.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Parramatta have a leak. Well, they have many leaks, but one in particular is very relevant to this market.

In each of their last eight away matches, the opposition's starting right wing has scored at least one try.

On Easter Monday, the man lining up at right wing for their opponents the Tigers will be Sunia Turuva and as a result we’ll be backing him to be the first try scorer in this contest.

Betting tip: Sunia Turuva.

Over/Under Prediction

Yeah, neither of these teams are known for their defence. Each of the Wests Tigers' last seven home matches against Parramatta have gone over the total match points line and we’re tipping that to transpire yet again when they face on Easter Monday.

Betting tip: Over total match points.
