Wests Tigers vs St George Illawarra Dragons Prediction – Round 24 2026

14/08/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The Wests Tigers and St. George Illawarra Dragons will close NRL Round 24 at CommBank Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Dragons gave fans a glimpse into the future as young stars Hamish Stewart, Dylan Egan and Ryan Couchman shone during a 24-16 upset over the Sharks last Sunday.

They'll be eager to maintain that form over the closing weeks of the season while potentially impacting other sides’ finals positioning.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are fresh from a bye after suffering a heartbreaking 16-13 defeat to the Eels at this venue a fortnight ago.

Tigers centre Solomone Saukuru is set to make his NRL debut in place of Heamasi Makasini.

On the other side of the field, Damien Cook returns at hooker, while Toby Couchman is also back for the Dragons.

For the latest team news, analysis, and expert insights ahead of the final game of NRL Round 24, check out our Tigers vs Dragons tips and predictions below!

Tigers vs Dragons Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Looks like they saved the best for first and the worst for last in NRL Round 24.

We’re doing it, we’re actually doing it! We’re going to tip the Dragons in 2026. Why you ask? Five words – they’re playing the Wests Tigers.

Benji’s boys have lost seven straight and if you could lose to a bye, they’d probably have done that last week too.

The Dragons win over the Sharks last week showed they are still capable of winning football games, something we aren’t sure this incarnation of the Tigers are.

Betting tip: St George Illawarra Dragons

First Try Scorer Prediction

Once one of the game’s greatest finishers, it's clear Valentine Holmes' glory days are behind him, but he still seems to always find time for a try against this particular opponent.

The former Queensland and Australian outside back has scored at least one try in each of his last five appearances against the Wests Tigers and is our pick for the first try scorer in this match.

Betting tip: Valentine Holmes

Over/Under Prediction

Nine of St. George Illawarra's last 10 away matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under (47.5) total match points

Line Prediction

The Wests Tigers have covered the line in each of their last five matches after a bye.

Betting tip: Tigers (+0.5) line
