St George Illawarra Dragons vs Gold Coast Titans Prediction - Round 21 2026

24/07/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

Wooden spoon calculations will come into play when the St. George Illawarra Dragons and Gold Coast Titans do battle at Jubilee Stadium on Sunday.

The Dragons lost 20-12 to the Warriors last weekend and are running out of opportunities to avoid finishing last. A win on Sunday would keep their hopes alive of avoiding that unwanted wooden spoon.

Dragons coach Dean Young was confirmed as permanent head coach during the week, despite limited success since taking over from Shane Flanagan.

Meanwhile, the Titans shocked the competition with a 38-32 victory over the Sea Eagles last Sunday, notching just their fifth win of the season in a performance full of running football and attacking intent.

Kurtis Morrin returns to the interchange, while Jaylan de Groot starts in the centres with AJ Brimson sidelined through concussion.

The Titans won 22-14 when these sides met in Round 4, and they'll fancy their chances of making it two from two on Sunday.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Gold Coast Titans Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Sunday's Round 21 action starts with everyone's favourite whipping boys the Dragons searching for just their third win of the season.

Standing in their way are the Titans, who finally found a result to match their recent effort. They outlasted Manly in a 70-point shootout and will head down to Jubilee Stadium full of confidence after running in some stunning tries against a stunned Sea Eagles side.

With the last-placed Dragons still firmly on the no-tip list, our decision is an easy one here.

Head-to-head prediction: Gold Coast Titans.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Jojo Fifita is flying right now. A maiden State of Origin series in maroon has done wonders for his confidence and he's carried that form straight back into club football.

Against a Dragons side struggling to contain attacking wingers, Fifita is a clear option for first try scorer.

Betting tip: Jojo Fifita.

Over/Under Prediction

If anything has been established this season, it's that these two clubs can't defend. The Titans just put up 38 against Manly and the Dragons have shown all year they'll give up points.

It's worth noting that seven of St. George Illawarra's last eight matches have gone under the total match points line, but on the back of Titans attacking form and with little defensive resistance expected, we're siding with the points.

Betting tip: Over (46.5) total match points.

Line Prediction

This is about as tight as the market gets at +/- 0.5, which tells you the bookies see it as a genuine contest.

But the Titans are the better side right now and Josh Hannay has them playing with real hunger. Back the Gold Coast to cover in what should be a comfortable enough win.

Betting tip: Titans to cover the line.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Gold Coast Titans Anytime Try Scorer Betting Tips

Keano Kini

The Titans fullback is a danger every time he gets the ball in space. He'll be active in broken play and is a good bet to cross against a Dragons side that gives up tries in bunches.

Valentine Holmes

Even in a struggling Dragons outfit, Holmes remains a quality finisher. He has the class to find the line regardless of the team's fortunes and is always worth including as an anytime option.

Arama Hau

Hau has been one of the Titans' more consistent performers this season and gets plenty of opportunities from the edge. A reliable inclusion for anytime try scorer markets.

Phillip Sami

Sami on the left wing picks up plenty of action when the Titans are rolling and they head into Sunday with real confidence. Expect him to benefit from some good ball out wide.
