South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Melbourne Storm Prediction – Round 21 2026

22/07/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The South Sydney Rabbitohs will be out to complete a season double over the Melbourne Storm when they clash at Accor Stadium on Friday night.

The Rabbitohs finally broke their AAMI Park hoodoo in dominant fashion, claiming a 48-6 victory in Round 8 earlier this season.

More recently, Souths fell 34-24 to the Raiders on the road last Saturday. Meanwhile, the Storm lost 14-6 to the Roosters last Friday, causing another setback in their push for a top-eight spot.

Jahrome Hughes is back for the Storm, while Will Warbrick looks to have played his final match in purple, with the outgoing star rupturing his Achilles last week. Moses Leo will replace Warbrick on the wing.

The Rabbitohs have suffered some huge outs, with captain Cameron Murray and Tallis Duncan sidelined due to injury, while David Fifita will miss through suspension. Lachlan Hubner and Latrell Siegwalt are named to start.

For the latest team news, analysis, and expert insights ahead of this Friday night fiesta, check out our Rabbitohs vs Storm tips and predictions below!

Rabbitohs vs Storm Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Two of the game’s greatest minds will meet when Wayne Bennett’s South Sydney side welcome Craig Bellamy’s Melbourne outfit to Accor Stadium on Friday night.

Melbourne have an imposing record over the Rabbitohs, but only in Melbourne. The stats show that the Bunnies love bouncing their opponents at this venue and have won each of their last six matches at this venue.

Add to this record the fact that the Storm are seriously decimated at the moment, with both Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes out of this one and it becomes far less surprising to see that Souths are expected to win this one.

Betting tip: South Sydney Rabbitohs.

First Try Scorer Prediction

He rarely misses anywhere, but he really doesn’t miss at this venue. The NRL’s all-time leading try scorer Alex Johnston has scored at least one try in each of his last nine appearances at Accor Stadium.

Always a tempting pick for first try scorer, the location of this game all but forces our hand into picking Johnston to cross for the first four pointer here.

Betting tip: Alex Johnston.

Over/Under Prediction

Five of Melbourne's last six away matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under (47.5) total match points.

Line Prediction

Melbourne has failed to cover the line in each of their last six matches at Accor Stadium.

Betting tip: Rabbitohs (-5.5) line.
