NRL Tips and Predictions – Round 15

If Round 14 taught us anything it’s that no lead is safe and no tipster is sane.

High-scoring shootouts? Check. Second-half meltdowns? Double check.

Teams blew leads like they were birthday candles, and the scoreboard operators earned overtime.

As we dive into Round 15, Origin disruptions and injury niggles are still looming, and just when you think you’ve cracked the code, you catch yourself staring at the final result wondering if footy physics had changed.

So grab your scarf, your snack of choice, and maybe a stress ball – because predicting winners in round 14 was like trying to defend Payne Haas on a full tank.

Here’s the NRL tips and predictions for round 15 as we get deeper in the season.

Cronulla Sutherland Sharks vs St George Illawarra

Thursday, June 12, 7:50pm AEST – Sharks Stadium

NRL Round 15 starts with a classic rivalry, as both teams look to put in a way better 80 minute performance.

Cronulla were in the contest against the Warriors before the second half rolled around, while the Dragons took more than 60 minutes to score their only try in a 50 point loss.

When the entire NRL fanbase thought the Sharks fully healthy prior to Origin was a huge bonus, that opinion aged like milk.

This time around, the Dragons are really struggling and are going to play desperate for Shane Flanagan as they want to be in the finals.

We expect the Sharks to get one up on their arch rivals and scratch the back-to-back losses out of their heads.

Head-to-head prediction: Cronulla Sharks

Betting tip: Over total match points.

Gold Coast Titans vs Manly Sea Eagles Prediction

Friday, June 13, 8pm AEST – Cbus Super Stadium

Both teams walk into this match with their heads down, as they try to wipe their memory of last week’s results.

The Manly Sea Eagles had a very comfortable lead and blew the game that saw the Knights push the game into golden point.

In a surprising plot point for the NRL, Daly Cherry-Evans has officially been left out of the Maroons side for Origin and if they were to have Tom Trbojevic back for this game, Manly have a very intriguing advantage going into this game.

Considering the Titans lose two of their middles to Origin and Manly having their halfback stay in club land, we expect Manly to find their identity and life in a very heavy baggage type of season.

Head-to-head prediction: Manly Sea Eagles

Betting tip: Over total match points.

Newcastle Knights vs Sydney Roosters

Saturday, June 14, 5:30pm AEST – McDonalds Stadium

The battle of blue and red starts the Saturday night special as the Knights take on the Roosters.

An unbelievable comeback by the Knights gives them light in the darkness, and the Roosters hope to continue their winning ways against the home side, winning four of the last five meetings against this side.

Looming behind the scenes is also the release and signing of Dominic Young, as we get closer to the end of his time at the Roosters and return to where he started his NRL career.

Considering the poor form of Newcastle with the exception of last week and how the Roosters have managed the State of Origin period so far, we expect the Roosters to continue past and present trends.

Head-to-head prediction: Sydney Roosters

Betting tip: Over total match points.

North Queensland Cowboys vs Dolphins

Saturday, June 14 7:35pm AEST – Queensland Country Bank Stadium

One team scored more than 50 points and the other barely clawed past ten points.

The Dolphins look to keep their confidence against a Cowboys side with missing troops due to State of Origin, including their halfback Tom Dearden.

Depth is crucial in these major bye rounds and considering who is not playing for the Cowboys this round, they would have to do a mission impossible to pull off what they would have to do this week.

Scoring has been a big theme in the Cowboys recent games, as their games have gone over the total match points in five of their last six matches.

We expect the Dolphins to deservingly earn a win against their Queensland rivals and back up their half-century point performance.

Head-to-head prediction: Dolphins

Betting tip: Over total match points.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs

Sunday, June 15 4:05pm AEST – Accor Stadium

Doesn’t matter if the club has big shakeups midseason and finds a way to continue trusting their crop they started with, the Bulldogs prove they can win in almost any circumstance and in style.

Lachlan Galvin shuffles the deck in the second half to play halfback and scores a try against the Eels was absolute public holiday cinema to end the round.

A lot of ugly performances last round also included the Rabbitohs, who were up 12-0 in the early stages. They let in 36 unanswered Raiders points and watched Josh Papali’i score two tries, kick a goal and Ricky Stuart emotional on the sidelines.

Even with the Bulldogs having troops out to Origin duties, the value of Lachlan Galvin joining the side during the major bye rounds could be a massive difference in their season, as they still have only two losses this season, with their recent being three rounds ago due to lots of injuries and Origin call-ups.

With four of the Bulldogs players playing in Game 2 of State of Origin, we still expect the Bulldogs to keep winning and for Lachlan Galvin to stay undefeated since joining the team that bleeds blue and white.

Head-to-head prediction: Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs

Betting tip: Bulldogs win by more than 12+ points.
