<p>Before he was an astute Rugby League analyst and Sportsbet presenter, Joel Caine was a prolific winger and deadly sharpshooter in both the NRL and English Super League.</p>
<p>Sugar made his professional debut for the St George Dragons in 1998. He played in the club’s last game before they merged with the Illawarra Steelers to become the St George Illawarra Dragons.</p>
<p>He then went on to join Balmain in 1999, he also played in their final game as a standalone entity before they merged with Western Suburbs to become the Wests Tigers.</p>
<p>He finished as Balmain’s top points scorer in their final season thanks to his prowess in front of goal.</p>
<p>Joel’s time in the NRL is perhaps best remembered for scoring a hat-trick against the Brisbane Broncos in the Wests Tigers first ever game as a joint venture.</p>
<p>He is still to this day the Tigers’ third-highest points scorer of all time, having scored 526 points in just four years at the club.</p>
<p>After leaving the NRL, Sugar spent two seasons in the English Super League playing for the London Broncos and Salford City Reds, before hanging up the boots for good.</p>
<p>These days, he is best known as a respected Rugby League analyst, media personality and Sportsbet presenter.</p>
