NRL Tips and Predictions – Round 10 2026

05/05/2026|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

Blink and you’ll miss it. Just like that we’ve arrived at Round 10 of the 2026 NRL season, marking the first real checkpoint where we can sit back and take stock of the current premiership landscape.

After a one season sabbatical from complete domination, the Penrith Panthers are once again the team to beat in the National Rugby League.

Elsewhere, The Warriors, Rabbitohs and Tigers have turned into the surprise packets for season 2026, while both Manly and North Queensland have shown, it’s never too late to get your act together.

The story of the season though, of course, is the storm brewing down in Melbourne. When it rains it pours, but it’s monsoon season down there at the moment.

Craig Bellamy’s once infallible outfit find themselves second last in the standing and nursing a seven-game losing streak, the longest in the club’s history.

With pressure mounting from all sides, are the Storm beyond saving? Or is NRL Round 10 when they will finally stop the rot? Let’s find out!

For all the latest news, analysis, odds, and betting tips, check out our expert NRL Round 10 tips and predictions below.

The Dolphins vs Canterbury Bulldogs Prediction

Thursday, May 7, 7:50pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium

Sitting side-by-side on the ladder, The Dolphins and the Canterbury Bulldogs get things started in NRL Round 10.

After becoming the first and so far, only side to beat the Penrith Panthers this season, the Bulldogs thought no one would notice if they then went on a three-game losing streak.

Well, we have noticed and you can bet The Dolphins have too. After snapping their own significant losing stretch last week with a come from behind victory against the Storm, the Phins will be keen to build some much-needed momentum, particularly at home.

The big news for the Dolphins last start was the return of outside back Jack Bostock, who played his first game back from a long-term ACL injury, scoring a double to mark the occasion.

We’ll be looking to him to grab one or two more in a win over the Bulldogs in his new position of centre.

Head-to-head prediction: The Dolphins.

Betting tip: Jack Bostock first try scorer.

Sydney Roosters vs Gold Coast Titans Prediction

Friday, May 8, 6:00pm AEST – Polytec Stadium

The bye appeared to do more harm than good for the Gold Coast who returned to losing ways last start.

Their prospects of returning to the winner’s circle don’t appear to be all that flash this week, with the red-hot Roosters waiting for them at Polytec Stadium in Gosford.

An explosive first-half saw them blow defending Premiers the Brisbane Broncos off the park last week, with new recruit Daly Cherry-Evans showing just why the Tri-colours decided to gamble on a 37-year-old to lead their side.

Look to Daly to once again guide the Chooks to victory here, against a Titans side currently languishing in 14th.

Head-to-head prediction: Sydney Roosters.

Betting tip: Daly Cherry-Evans anytime try scorer.

North Queensland Cowboys vs Parramatta Eels Prediction

Friday, May 8, 8:00pm AEST – Queensland Country Bank Stadium

It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish, and while the finish line is some 17 rounds away, the Cowboys have shown you can quickly overturn a slow start.

After opening their season with back-to-back losses, North Queensland have only lost once since, winning six of their last seven NRL outings.

Parramatta could sure take a leaf out of the Cowboys book, sitting third last and seemingly unable to notch consecutive wins.

Notching consecutive losses has not been a problem for the Blue and Gold this season however and we expect them to notch just that on the road to the fully revived Cowboys.

Head-to-head prediction: North Queensland Cowboys.

Betting tip: Scott Drinkwater first try scorer.

St George Illawarra Dragons vs Newcastle Knights Prediction

Saturday, May 9, 3:00pm AEST – WIN Stadium

Sorry Dragons fans, it’s back to reality this week. The good news is, you’re finally on the board. The bad news is, that wasn’t an NRL team you beat last week, that was the bye.

Don’t let the two points next to their name fool you, the Dragons are yet to register a single win this season.

Sometimes an organisation is just rotten to the core and requires a full rebuild, when that’s the case, it usually becomes all about damage limitation.

That will certainly be the order of the day for the Red V, when they welcome the Newcastle Knights to WIN Stadium on Saturday arvo.

Newcastle will be looking to continue their quest for a spot in the eight, after they saw off the Bunnies last week in a crazy 80-point shootout.

With a taste for tries on their tongue, expect them to run in more than a few on their way to victory over the dreadful Dragons.

Head-to-head prediction: Newcastle Knights.

Betting tip: Greg Marzhew to score two or more tries.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Cronulla Sharks Prediction

Saturday, May 9, 5:30pm AEST – Accor Stadium

Two teams who look like premiership contenders on their day, yet can turn in absolute stinkers at the drop of a hat, meet here when the South Sydney Rabbitohs host the Cronulla Sharks.

Souths currently sit fourth thanks to their all-out attacking style that has seen them blow many a team off the turf in 2026.

The likes of Latrell Mitchell, Cody Walker and the NRL’s all-time leading try scorer Alex Johnston have run riot in recent weeks, running up quite the tab with the scoreboard attendants.

Unfortunately for Souths fans, the bill is often getting left with the defenders, who some weeks, struggle to pay.

Take last week for example, they scored 38 points, more than enough to win a game of footy, yet still fell to the Knights after leaking 42 points the other way.

The Sharks aren’t shy when it comes to scoring either, they dropped 52 on the Tigers last week to move back into the eight.

If you do the math, you’ll see we have one hell of a firefight brewing here, and while it’s anyone’s game, we will be taking the Rabbits by a hare.

Head-to-head prediction: South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Betting tip: Over total match points.

Manly Warringah Sea Eagles vs Brisbane Broncos Prediction

Saturday, May 9, 7:30pm AEST – Brookvale Oval

Up until last week, what did Kieran Foran have as an NRL coach that the likes of Wayne Bennett, Craig Bellamy and Michael Magurie don’t? A 100% record.

That’s right, since taking over the Sea Eagles, Foran had tasted nothing but victory, until the inevitable Penrith Panthers came to play party poopers last start.

Still, a narrow 18-16 loss against the runaway competition leaders is equivalent to a win against every other team and it seems strange to say, but Manly just might be genuine title contenders with Foran at the helm.

Speaking of titles, the current holders Brisbane have been hit with arguably the worst injury crisis in the modern era.

They’re set to have 14 players missing this week in scenes rarely seen this early in the competition.

There’s only so much you can do when half of your top 30 are missing, so there is no shame in going down to the soaring Sea Eagles on the road here, as we predict they will.

Head-to-head prediction: Manly Sea Eagles.

Betting tip: Jason Saab first try scorer.

Melbourne Storm vs Wests Tigers Prediction

Sunday, May 10, 2:00pm AEST – AAMI Park

Do not adjust your devices, yes, the Melbourne Storm really are sitting 16th heading into NRL Round 10.

The Storm slumped to loss number seven on the spin last start, a record for the franchise, albeit an unwanted one.

The Tigers will be looking to be the latest team to collect their severance package from the struggling Storm, payment for the last two decades of dominance.

Could the cheque bounce though? It’s not out of the realms of possibility, considering the Tigers had the dreaded 50+ put on them last week.

That of course means, if history is to be believed, they cannot win the comp this year.

Still, as crazy as it sounds to say out loud, the Storm are currently in the untippable basket, even at home.

Head-to-head prediction: Wests Tigers.

Betting tip: Under total match points.

Canberra Raiders vs Penrith Panthers Prediction

Sunday, May 10, 4:05pm AEST – GIO Stadium

The final game of NRL Round 10 sees the Canberra Raiders welcome the Penrith Panthers to the nation’s capital on Sunday afternoon.

With three wins in their last four, it appears last year’s minor premiers are finally finding some form, after a shocking start to the season.

Despite this recent revival, they still sit 13th and will need the likes of Kaeo Weekes and Simi Sasagi to be on one if they want any hope of upsetting the Panthers.

Speaking of the Panthers, they churned out yet another victory last week, although unlike most, Manly made them really work for it, with a Nathan Cleary conversion the only thing between the two sides at fulltime.

Try scoring freak Thomas Jenkins decided to have a week off from scoring a double, so we doubt he’ll be able to contain himself here and simply have to cross the stripe one or two times in what should be a comfortable victory for him and his teammates.

Head-to-head prediction: Penrith Panthers.

Betting tip: Thomas Jenkins to score two or more tries.

New Zealand Warriors – BYE

After recording yet another win which now sees them sitting in second, the Warriors get a well-deserved week off in NRL Round 10 thanks to the bye.
