The Canberra Raiders will look to continue their charge towards the minor premiership when they host the Newcastle Knights at GIO Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Green Machine overcame a half-time deficit to storm home 40-16 against the Eels last Saturday, extending their winning streak to eight.

Meanwhile, the Knights suffered a heartbreaking last-gasp 20-15 defeat in their last outing. On course for a rare win against top four opposition, a buzzer-beating try to the Warriors’ Leka Halasima condemned Newcastle to their third loss in a row.

That streak began exactly a month ago, when Canberra pipped the Knights 22-18 in Newcastle. However, the Knights have won at this venue in each of the last two seasons, so there is a glimmer of hope for the Novocastrians.

One change for the Raiders sees Simi Sasagi elevated into the centres to cover for Sebastian Kris, with Noah Martin joining the 17. Newcastle also has just one change in personnel, with Jack Hetherington selected on the bench ahead of Thomas Cant.

Check out our Canberra Raiders vs Newcastle Knights preview for plenty of betting tips and predictions across a host of markets. So, we’ll be taking Canberra by plenty at home.

Betting tip: Canberra Raiders.

First Tryscorer Prediction

One Raider in particular seems to love playing against the Knights.
