NRLW Tips & Predictions – Round 7

04/09/2024|SB Staff|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

A nine-week regular season means with NRLW round 7 we are nearing the pointy end of the competition.

With only three weeks remaining before finals, there’s still everything to play for, including the minor premiership. However, it will take a few Shark slip ups for the chasing pack to catch up.

Cronulla continue to swim upstream as the only undefeated side left in the NRLW, but fellow title hopefuls the Sydney Roosters will look to change that in round 7.

With that blockbuster match and much more to look forward to this week, get straight into the action.

For the latest news, analysis, odds, for all the upcoming NRLW action, check out our NRLW round 7 tips and predictions below.

North Queensland Cowboys Women vs Wests Tigers Women Prediction

Saturday, September 7, 11:00am AEST – Queensland Country Bank Stadium

The North Queensland Cowboys will try and keep their slim finals hopes alive with a win over the winless Wests Tigers in NRLW round 7.

The girls from up north cannot afford to drop any more points over the next fortnight if they want to have any chance of making the top four and luckily for them, they get to face the Tigers here, who are yet to fire a shot in season 2024.

We’re tipping the Cowboys to still be in finals contention come full time of this one.

Head-to-head prediction: North Queensland Cowboys Women.

Betting tip: Big win, little win – Cowboys 13+

St George Illawarra Dragons Women vs Canberra Raiders Women Prediction

Saturday, September 7, 12:45pm AEST – Jubilee Stadium

The Raiders race in already run, but the Dragons have the slimmest of finals hopes heading into NRLW round 7.

The St George girls did what their male counterparts could not and beat Parramatta last week after breaching the 40-point mark.

The impressive eight try rout of the once highly fancied Eels will fill the Red V with plenty of confidence for the run in, particularly Keele Browne and Teagan Berry who both crossed for classy doubles in the win.

We’re backing the home side to keep the good times rolling here against the rudderless Raiders.

Head-to-head prediction: St George Illawarra Dragons Women.

Betting tip: Teagan Berry first try scorer.

Cronulla Sharks Women vs Sydney Roosters Women Prediction

Sunday, September 8, 12:00pm AEST – Shark Park

The headline fixture of NRLW round 7 takes place on Sunday when table-toppers Cronulla welcome one of their main title challengers the Roosters to Shark Park.

The Sharks just keep swimming and after knocking off the Titans on the GC, who were yet to lose there this season, they have now rightfully been installed as premiership favourites.

This clash will really test the Sharks mettle, but the form and combination of halfback Tarryn Aiken and skipper Tiana Penitani will have them feeling like they can take anyone on.

Penitani in particular has been a colossus this year, constantly wreaking havoc on her edge. Keep her in mind when selecting try scorers in this one.

There’s more good news for the Sharkies, but their gain is the Chooks loss, with news that star prop Millie Elliott will have to sit this one out for a carless high tackle in what will be a big blow for the Roosters.

Ultimately, it is impossible to tip against a side who are yet to lose this season, and we will be doing no such thing here.

Head-to-head prediction: Cronulla Sharks Women.

Betting tip: Tiana Penitani anytime try scorer.

Parramatta Eels Women vs Gold Coast Titans Women Prediction

Sunday, September 8, 1:45pm AEST – Eric Tweedale Stadium

Up next are two teams who started this NRLW season in top form, but in round 7 now find themselves on the outer of the final’s places.

Both sides won two of their opening three games but have only picked up the one additional win since.

The loser of this one will find it hard to make the finals and after Parra copped 42 last week to the lowly Dragons, it appears the poor form that saw them win the spoon last year has started to creep back into the picture.

Head-to-head prediction: Gold Coast Titans Women.

Betting tip: SGM – Emily Bass and Evania Pelite anytime try scorers.

Newcastle Knights Women vs Brisbane Broncos Women Prediction

Sunday, September 8, 6:10pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium

Rounding out our NRLW round 7 tips and predictions is another massive match. Both the Broncos and the Knights are in the top four, former NRLW champions and in red-hot form.

The Broncos in particular have been irresistible of late and have now won four on the trot after suffering a slow start to the season.

The pair of losses that opened their season are now just an afterthought and they’ve raced to second on the ladder off the back of some scintillating form from their big hitters such as: Hufanga, Brigginshaw and Maddick.

The Knights are no slouches either and sit right behind the Broncs waiting to pounce, should they slip up. Will this be the week they do just that? Potentially, but the girls from the Sunshine State are simply too electric to pass up at the moment.

Head-to-head prediction: Brisbane Broncos Women.

Betting tip: SGM – Mele Mufanga, Hayley Maddick and Tamika Upton anytime try scorers.
