Now that the dust has settled on the NRLW’s first ever Magic Round, it’s time to look ahead to the next run of must win matches.

NRLW round 6 promises to be just as entertaining as last week's footy fiesta down in Newcastle. We expect plenty of points this week with a couple of lopsided contests on the cards.

Can the underdogs bite back? Or will the favourites do as expected and romp to victory across the board?

Let’s see if we can find any diamonds in the roughies. For all the latest news, analysis, odds, and betting tips ahead of this week’s action, check out our expert NRLW round 6 tips and predictions.

St George Illawarra Dragons Women vs Cronulla Sharks Women Prediction

Saturday, August 9, 12:45pm AEST – Jubilee Stadium

The opening game of NRLW round 6 may just be the hardest to tip. Both the Dragons and the Sharks sit neck in neck in the standings, and both enter this one off the back of narrow, brave losses.

The Sharks rallied last against the barnstorming Broncos but to an avail, while a missed conversion was all that stood between St George and some sort of tangible result in their game against Parra.

The Dragons were actually up 10-0 at one stage and they looked dangerous when they were. If they can put together a full 70 minutes, we fancy them to get the job done at home.

Head-to-head prediction: St George Illawarra Dragons Women.

Betting tip: Margot Vella first try scorer.

Newcastle Knights Women vs Wests Tigers Women Prediction

Saturday, August 9, 3:15pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium

With Magic Round over, everyone has packed up and headed home from McDonald Jones Stadium, everyone except the Newcastle Knights.

They’re back at home this week after condemning winless Canberra to yet another defeat last start. The calibre of opposition isn’t exactly improving this week either.

As one winless team rolls out of the Hunter with their tails between their legs another rolls in. The Tigers are 0-5 to start the season and we can see that becoming 0-6 here.

Head-to-head prediction: Newcastle Knights Women.

Betting tip: Big win little win – Newcastle 13+

Canterbury Bulldogs Women vs New Zealand Warriors Women Prediction

Saturday, August 9, 5:15pm AEST – Accor Stadium

Both the Bulldogs and the Warriors were involved in Magic Round thrillers, so does that mean we’ve got another close one loading here?

We think so. The Warriors picked up their second win since returning to the NRLW last week with a gutsy 12-6 smash and grab against the Cowboys.

The Doggies meanwhile were involved in a crazy 14-14 stalemate with the Titans, that not even Golden Point could decide.

All things considered this should be another close, low scoring affair, but with home ground advantage on their side, we fancy the Bulldogs by a nose here.

Head-to-head prediction: Canterbury Bulldogs Women.

Betting tip: Elizabet MacGregor first try scorer.

Gold Coast Titans Women vs Sydney Roosters Women Prediction

Sunday, August 10, 11:50am AEST – Cbus Super Stadium

The Roosters remained perfect in 2025 with a magical Magic Round win over the toothless Tigers. The only undefeated team left in the NRLW, the Tri-colours now have the tired Titans in their crosshairs.

The Goldie girls will have an extra 10 minutes of high octane footy in the legs after their golden point stalemate against the Bulldogs last week.

The roosters are yet to lead us astray this season and we will continue to back them in until they give us a reason not to.

Head-to-head prediction: Sydney Roosters Women.

Betting tip: SGM – Jessica Sergis, Isabelle Kelly and Jamie Chapman anytime try scorers.

Canberra Raiders Women vs Brisbane Broncos Women Prediction

Sunday, August 10, 1:45pm AEST – GIO Stadium

Of all the mismatches in NRLW round 6, this is undoubtedly the biggest. The barnstorming Broncos will travel down to the nation’s capital to take on the winless Raiders.

Currently dead last, Canberra have gone from being unable to win games, to being unable to score points. This could get ugly.

We had Brisbane’s Tamika Upton pinned as the opening try scorer last week as she returned to her old stomping ground and she did not disappoint.

Not only did she open the scoring in the 9th minute, but she also went on to score a stunning hat-trick.

Undoubtedly the best player in the competition, we’re backing Upton to put on another clinic and for her Broncos to run riot off the back of it.

Head-to-head prediction: Brisbane Broncos Women.

Betting tip: Tamka Upton to score 2+ tries.

Parramatta Eels Women vs North Queensland Cowboys Women Prediction

Sunday, August 10, 6:45pm AEST – CommBank Stadium

The final game of NRLW round 6 sees the Cowboys staying down south, to take on the Parramatta Eels at CommBank Stadium on Sunday.

Both of these sides were on either side of low-scoring grinds in Magic Round. The Eels came out on top 12-10 against St George, while North Queensland went down 12-6 to the Wahs.

We’re tipping a repeat performance here from both sides, with Parra getting it done in a close one at home.

Head-to-head prediction: Parramatta Eels Women.

Betting tip: Under total match points.
