Magic Round is done and dusted, with the NRLW's all-in showcase at Wagga Wagga drawing more than 14,000 fans and delivering the kind of spectacle the competition deserves.

However, there’s no more time to sit back and admire the success of last week, because NRLW Round 6 is here and it doubles as another special occasion. 

Just like their male counterparts, the NRLW will be taking part in Indigenous Round this weekend, as the women’s game takes a moment to salute First Nations people from both Australia and New Zealand and their contribution to the Greatest Game of All. 

The lineup for NRLW Round 6 is certainly worthy of the occasion with no shortage of storylines brewing ahead of the weekend. 

From unbeaten Roosters chasing history to a Raiders side bracing for a Broncos blitz, it’s time to buckle up and brace for some serious action. 

There’s also judiciary drama from Magic Round that adds another layer of uncertainty, with several key players facing possible suspensions heading into Indigenous Round.

Canterbury Bulldogs Women vs North Queensland Women Prediction 

Saturday, August 8, 12:45pm AEST – Belmore Sports Ground 

NRLW Round 6 opens with the Bulldogs welcoming the Cowboys to Belmore carrying some lingering Magic Round tension as it was Tayla Preston who was on the receiving end of the Ali Brigginshaw throw that's now before the judiciary. 

Whether that incident adds any extra edge to Canterbury's preparations remains to be seen.

Canterbury hold the home advantage and have been installed as favourites at 1.55. The Cowboys are a battling side but have struggled to win away from home in 2026. 

Backing the Bulldogs to cover the -3.5 line looks like the value play here, provided Canterbury's squad is at full strength heading into the weekend.

Cronulla Sharks Women vs Gold Coast Titans Women Prediction

Saturday, August 8, 3:15pm AEST – Shark Park

The Titans head to Shark Park as clear favourites, but this match carries significant squad uncertainty on both sides. 

Cronulla are monitoring Annessa Biddle (leg), while Gold Coast head into the game with Enah Desic (head knock) under a cloud. 

Adding to the Titans' concerns, Georgia Hale faces a possible one-match ban after a Grade 1 Contrary Conduct charge from Magic Round.

Longer-term injuries to Georgia Grey, Destiny Mino-Sinapati, and Jess Elliston (season-ending knee) have thinned Gold Coast's depth considerably. 

However, the Titans should still have enough firepower to win this, but covering 6.5 points on a depleted roster feels risky. The Sharks at +6.5 is worth considering.

New Zealand Warriors Women vs Newcastle Knights Women Prediction

Saturday, August 8, 5:15pm AEST – FMG Stadium Waikato

The Warriors enter this clash as solid favourites at home, though their injury list is growing. 

Jasmin Huriwai, Anastasia Sekene, Matekino Gray, and the suspended Lavinia Tauhalaliku are all out.

Meanwhile, their opponents, The Knights, face even worse news. Tayla Predebon is set for a two-match ban and Lilly-Ann White and Yasmin Meakes are also absent. 

The Warriors' home advantage and depth should be enough to get them over the line, but it’ll be close.

Canberra Raiders Women vs Brisbane Broncos Women Prediction

This is one of NRLW Round 6’s most lopsided matches. At the time of writing, the Broncos are 1.15 favourites with a -16.5 line. 

However, Brisbane do have question marks over Ali Brigginshaw's judiciary outcome, while Kerri Johnson and Lillian Yarrow are also TBC.

Canberra is missing the suspended Jordyn Preston and the injured Bobbi Law and are coming off a narrow loss in Magic Round. 

Brisbane are expected to win comfortably, but covering 16.5 points is ambitious if they end up being without the services of Brigginshaw.

St George Illawarra Dragons Women vs Wests Tigers Women Prediction

Sunday, August 9, 1:35pm AEST – Jubilee Stadium

The Tigers enter their clash with St George as heavy favourites despite missing Holli Wheeler due to suspension. This loss shouldn't derail their momentum.

The Dragons have personnel issues of their own with several injury concerns floating around heading into NRLW Round 6.

Tyra Ekepati, Kasey Reh, Keele Browne, and Madison Mulhall are either out or in doubt. 

St George Illawarra struggled last week, and another tough outing looks likely. The Tigers should win, but the -11.5 line is a little high without Wheeler.

Sydney Roosters Women vs Parramatta Eels Women Prediction

Sunday, August 9, 6:15pm AEST – Allianz Stadium

Do not adjust your devices, these odds are real. The Roosters are 1.01 favourites, with the Eels currently paying 21.00 to spring the upset of the season. 

The Chooks enter this clash 5-0 and are in peak form. Jocelyn Kelleher recently became the first player to reach 300 career points and continues to cover effectively for the injured Tarryn Aiken.

The Eels are in crisis with six players unavailable, including Rachael Pearson and Martha Mataele. 

They also have the inverse of the Roosters record, five games, five losses. Yikes. The -33.5 line is huge, but unfortunately for the Blue and Gold faithful accurately reflects the monumental gap between these two sides.
