The Sydney Roosters Women will meet the Brisbane Broncos Women in the NRLW Grand Final for the second year running on Sunday.

While the Broncos were victors on that occasion triumphing 22-18, the Roosters finished this season on top of the ladder and have not lost a game up to this point.

This year's NRLW Grand Final also carries extra emotional weight for both sides. Broncos captain Ali Brigginshaw is set to play the last game of her decorated career, while Roosters stalwarts Corban Baxter and Millie Elliott are also calling time on their NRLW journeys. 

For the Broncos, a win would mean back-to-back premierships. For the Roosters, it's a chance to convert a dominant regular season into silverware.

While every retiring player deserves celebrating, it is Ali Brigginshaw's farewell game headlines this year's grand final. 

The Broncos skipper has been central to Brisbane's success for years, as well as being the face of the NRLW for much of her career.

A win here would give her a fifth premiership ring alongside teammates Chelsea Lenarduzzi and Julia Robinson, who are also chasing their fifth title.

On the Roosters' side, Corban Baxter and Millie Elliott will play their final NRLW matches, adding motivation for a Sydney side already fired up after finishing minor premiers. 

Brisbane, despite losing significant experience from their 2025 roster, have proven they can win without relying solely on star power, an important factor heading into this rematch.

If you value consistency across a full season over a hot finals streak, the Roosters are where it’s at, because their minor premiership wasn't a fluke. Isabelle Kelly leads an attacking unit that has troubled defences all year, and the Roosters head into the decider with a clean judiciary sheet and a settled squad.

Being led by Tamika Upton is another massive factor for backing the Broncs. She continues to be the competition's most dangerous fullback, combining elite defensive reads with a habit of scoring when it matters most. 

All in all however, the Sydney Roosters are our pick to win the 2026 NRLW Grand Final. 

Brisbane's unbeaten run since Brigginshaw's return is impressive, but betting against a team who literally has not lost this season just seems foolish. 

The Chooks also have a cleaner injury list, and their many attacking weapons led by Isabelle Kelly should be enough to reverse last year's result. 

Expect a tight arm wrestle, but Sydney's depth advantage and their uncanny ability to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat every single time should get them home.

Tamika Upton is the standout pick for first try scorer. She opened the scoring in Brisbane's preliminary final win and has crossed for 15 tries in 13 matches this season. 

Upton's combination of attacking instinct and early-game aggression makes her one of the most dangerous fullbacks in the competition, and she'll be chasing the first try and her sixth premiership ring on Sunday.

The over/under line for total match points is set at 40.5 for the 2026 NRLW Grand Final.

When these two sides met in last year’s decider the total points fell just under this total, finishing on 40 on the dot (22-18).

In their only encounter this season, this pre set 40.5 total was comprehensively eclipsed, with the final score being 34-20 (54) in the Rooster favour.

So which way should we lean this time around? In our experience, Grand Finals are always far more cagey affairs than regular season fixtures and both teams will no doubt be treading trepidatiously on the Accor Stadium turf.
