As the 2026 NRL season proper draws closer and closer to kicking off, pre-season festivities are coming thick and fast. From the Pre-season Challenge to the World Club Challenge as well as the occasional blockbuster transfer, there’s no shortage of stuff for footy fans and punters to sink their teeth into.

Of all the off-season activities, there is one showdown that holds a special place in every footy fan’s heart and that is the annual All-Star game.

Undergoing many iterations over the years, the last seven All Star matches have been contested by an Indigenous and a Māori side.

This year is no different, with the Māori All Stars set to welcome the Indigenous All Stars to Hamilton this Sunday in an exhibition match not to be missed.

Featuring some of the biggest and most exciting names in the game such as: James Fisher-Harris, Nicholas Hynes, Jamal Fogarty, Josh Addo-Carr and more, the Māori All Stars vs Indigenous All Stars is a must watch for everyone who loves attacking footy.

For the latest news, odds and analysis ahead of this All-Star affair, check out our Māori All Stars vs Indigenous All Stars tips and predictions below.

Maori All Stars vs Indigenous All Stars Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

A quick glance at the H2H odds and you’ll see the Māori All Stars enter this clash as slight favourites.

This is likely due to home ground advantage, as the 2026 version of the All Star game is scheduled to be played across the ditch in Hamilton.

One-off exhibition matches are always tricky to find an edge in, as lineups fluctuate so heavily from year to year.

History can sometimes be a helpful indicator of which side traditionally turns up better, but not here. Of the seven meetings between the Māori and Indigenous All Stars each side have won three times, with their clash in 2021 ending in a 10-10 draw.

With history no help here, it’s time to look elsewhere for a separating factor and if you turn your attention to the team lists (you can see them both) you’ll see that the Indigenous All Stars just seemed slightly more stacked in the killer positions than their Māori counterparts.

Add in the extra value of backing the underdogs and if they can negate their opponents home ground advantage, the Indigenous side should have enough star power to see themselves home here.

Betting tip: Indigenous All Stars.

First Try Scorer Prediction

There’s no shortage of candidates for first try scorer here. Many of the game’s premier finishers, frequent flyers and put-down wizards will be on show at FMG Stadium, with both sides stacked with elite try scoring talent.

JoJo Fifita, Keano Kini, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Casey McLean, Josh Addo-Carr, Jayden Campbell and Alofiana Khan-Pereira are just some of the names set to feature on Sunday.

There’s one name that stands out to us however thanks to his current combination of form, experience and pure speed. That name is Josh Addo Carr.

After a tumultuous end to his tenure at Canterbury, the man they call “The Foxx” enjoy an impressive resurgence after signing for Parramatta at the start of last season.

Despite entering the twilight of his career, Addo Carr crossed for 19 tries in 22 appearances for the Eels last term and also earned a recall to Kevin Walter’s Kangaroos side for their tour of England.

A long-time ambassador of Indigenous Rugby League, Addo Carr has featured in four All Star games, scoring four tries in the process.

We’re tipping that try a game strike rate to continue and for the Foxx to fly in for the first here.

Betting tip: Josh Addo-Carr.
