Newcastle Knights vs Parramatta Eels Prediction – Round 13 2026

27/05/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The high-flying Newcastle Knights will look to secure a fourth straight victory when they host the Parramatta Eels at McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.

The Knights have scored 122 points across the three matches since regaining Kalyn Ponga, with their most recent performance being a 36-12 win over the Titans at Magic Round.

Ponga’s outstanding form has earned him the Queensland fullback role ahead of Reece Walsh, and Knights fans will now hope he and Jacob Saifiti can back it up just two days later against the Eels.

Parramatta return from the bye looking to rebound from a disappointing 34-8 loss to Melbourne during Magic Round.

The Eels were dealt a major blow with Mitchell Moses suffering a hamstring injury during New South Wales camp, with Junior Paulo also facing an extended stint on the sidelines following knee surgery. However, Jason Ryles does regain fullback Isaiah Iongi alongside Kitione Kautoga.

The Eels have won eight of the past nine meetings between the sides, including a dominant 66-10 victory late last season. That being said, they are at long odds to make it nine from 10 here.

For the latest news, odds and analysis ahead of this Saturday showdown, check out our Knights vs Eels tips and predictions below.

Knights vs Eels Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

This season’s surprise packets Newcastle look to continue solidifying their reputation as one of the most dangerous attacking teams in the land when they welcome Parramatta to McDonald Jones Stadium on Saturday.

Early news out of NSW Origin camp is that Eels star Mitchell Moses is in doubt for Game I meaning he has almost zero chance of backing up for this game, if he does play.

The Eels have struggled with Moses on deck this year and we all know how they go without him, so we’re not exactly champing at the bit to tip a Blue and Gold ambush here.

They could potentially have a peak if Ponga doesn’t pull up 100% from Wednesday, but even so, we don’t fancy Parra’s chances of an upset on the road.

Betting tip: Newcastle Knights

First Try Scorer Prediction

For the first time in a while we’re not going to take the free-scoring Greg Marzhew in this market.

Surprisingly, we’re going to be taking a Parra player here, based purely on their record against Newcastle.

Josh Addo-Carr has scored two or more tries in two of his last three appearances against Newcastle and as a result is our pick for first try scorer on Saturday.

Betting tip: Josh Addo-Carr.

Over/Under Prediction

Eight of Newcastle's last nine matches as a favourite have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under (53.5) total match points.

Line Prediction

Newcastle has failed to cover the line in six of its last seven matches when playing with a rest disadvantage against Parramatta.

Betting tip: Eels (+14.5) line
