After scalping quadruple premiers Penrith last week in stunning scenes, the Dolphins now turn their attention to heavyweight Melbourne.

Home is where the heart is for the Phins, with their last two and so far, only wins of the season coming in Queensland.

Luckily for Kristian Woolf and co this showdown with the Storm is set for the turf of Suncorp Stadium.

Will their recent form and home ground hoodoo be enough to facilitate an upset for the ages against a Melbourne side who could be missing Jahrome Hughes?

Or will heavy favourites Melbourne do what they do best and win another game of Rugby League. While reigning Dally M medallist Hughes has been named for this clash, the jury is still out as to whether he will actually be fit enough to feature after injuring his shoulder in last week’s win over Manly.

Let’s take a look at how these two teams will line up, along with some betting tips for the H2H, first try scorer and over/under markets. This is our Dolphins vs Storm prediction.

Dolphins vs Storm Teams

The Dolphins

1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow

2. Jamayne Isaako

3.
Dolphins vs Storm Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Phins up? That’s the way they’re trending at the moment. After a disastrous start to the season that saw them lose their opening four games, Kristian Woolf’s side have won their last two outings in fine style.

Last week’s performance against Penrith was particularly impressive, as they ran in a slew of stunning tries, headlined by a Hammer hat-trick.

While they are now a team in form, taking down the Melbourne Storm is a tall order for anyone, and frankly we just can’t see the Phins making it three wins in a row on Friday night.

The door for a huge upset has been left slightly ajar thanks to a shoulder injury to reigning Dally M medalist Jahrome Hughes, but even without the Kiwi superstar, surely the Storm have too much spark for the home side here.

Betting tip: Melbourne Storm.

First Try Scorer Prediction

Despite tipping against the Dolphins in this contest, we fancy one of their men to be the first across the tryline at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Surely Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow will be brimming with confidence after scoring a stunning hat-trick against Penrith last week.

No doubt he’ll be looking to start this contest just how he finished the last – with a nice, juicy meat pie.

Betting tip: Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.

Over/Under Prediction

Both teams proved they have points in them last week scoring 48 (Melbourne) and 30 (The Dolphins) respectively.

We’re quietly confident they’ll be able to combine to exceed the over/under line of 50.5 points that has been set here.

Betting tip: Over total match points.

Dolphins vs Storm Match Details

Date: Friday, April 18, 2025.

Kick-off: 8:00pm AEST.

Location: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
