The Dolphins vs Brisbane Broncos Prediction – Round 23 2026

06/08/2026|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

The Dolphins will look to keep pressure on the top four when they face the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Dolphins have struggled against their crosstown rivals since entering the competition, losing six of seven meetings, including a 26-12 defeat in the opening month of this season.

Since that encounter, Kristian Woolf’s side has won six straight at Suncorp Stadium, averaging 35.7 points per game during that run. More recently, the Dolphins defeated the Dragons 28-22 last Friday.

Meanwhile, the Broncos fell 30-6 against the Knights last Saturday. They now sit eight points outside the top eight in what has been a very disappointing season for the reigning premiers.

Adam Reynolds is out with a concussion for the Broncos, so Thomas Duffy starts at halfback. Jaiyden Hunt and Billy Walters have been elevated to the starting side, while Jack Gosiewski is named on the bench.

The Dolphins have made one change, with Sebastian Su'a replacing Ray Stone on the interchange.

Dolphins vs Broncos Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The second all-Queensland affair of NRL Round 23 sees the Dolphins and the Broncos battle for Suncorp supremacy on Saturday.

The Broncos premiership is officially over after last week’s dismal defeat to a depleted Newcastle side, with no amount of mathematical logistics able to save them now.

Since getting belted 66-0 by the Sharks, the Phins are yet to lose again, with two wins and a bye to their name.

These results have not only kept them right in the finals race, but also within striking distance of the top four.

With the Broncos playing only for pride from here on out, picking the Phins becomes an easy decision for us.

Betting tip: The Dolphins

First Try Scorer Prediction

A former Broncos to land the first blow for the Phins in the Battle of Brisbane? It would be very in line with the Broncos current fortunes.

Jamayne Isaako has scored at least one try in each of the Dolphins' last four matches at Suncorp Stadium against opponents that were ranked lower on the ladder and if you look down, you’ll see the Broncos are indeed ranked far lower than the Phins.

Betting tip: Jamayne Isaako.

Over/Under Prediction

Each of Brisbane's last five matches have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under (48.5) line

Line Prediction

Brisbane has failed to cover the line in each of the last six matches at Suncorp Stadium when playing with a rest disadvantage.

Betting tip: Dolphins (-7.5) line
