Canterbury Bulldogs vs Cronulla Sharks Prediction – Round 27 2025

04/09/2025|Joel Caine|NRL Expert Predictions & Tips

Several months after being comfortably beaten on their own patch by the Canterbury Bulldogs, the Cronulla Sharks will be out for revenge when they meet at Accor Stadium on Saturday night.

That 20-6 loss to the Bulldogs in round 4 cannot be repeated if the Sharks are to give themselves every chance of claiming the last available top four spot.

Last week, Cronulla returned from its bye in style with a 40-16 win over the hapless Knights, while the Bulldogs defeated the Panthers' second-string side 28-4.

The Bulldogs have third place sewn up, while the Sharks will have to rely on other results to go their way, as well as securing an upset over Cameron Ciraldo’s side to earn a final’s double chance.

Jacob Kiraz’s injury opens a wing spot for Enari Tuala to return, while Viliame Kikau is back, leaving no room for Daniel Suluka-Fifita in the Bulldogs’ side.

Mawene Hiroti drops out for Sharks centre Jesse Ramien, who is back from a brief injury absence.

Bulldogs vs Sharks Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Can the Sharks swim into the top four? Well, we think the Bulldogs will give them every chance to do just that.

Obviously, they’ll need the Broncos to slip up, but if they do, they’ll fancy their chances of beating the third-placed Bulldogs.

That’s because Cameron Ciraldo will most likely rest most of his stars as his Canterbury side cannot finish any higher or lower than their current position of third.

This opens the door for the Sharks to grab a win where they would have usually faced a war.

Betting tip: Cronulla Sharks.

First Tryscorer Prediction

Desperate to give themselves every chance of securing a top four spot, we’re backing the Sharks to explode out of the blocks in this one.

As a result, we’re taking one of their players as first try scorer, with the player in question being right winger Sione Katoa.

The reason being, in each of Cronulla's last eight matches at Accor Stadium, their starting right wing has scored at least one try.

Betting tip: Sione Katoa.

Over/Under Prediction

Five of Canterbury's last six matches at Accor Stadium have gone under the total match points line.

Betting tip: Under total match points (45.5).

Line Prediction

Cronulla has failed to cover the line in each of their last five away matches.

Betting tip: Canterbury Bulldogs (-4.5).
