The second week of Sportsbet’s Try July was even bigger than the first! Players from across both the NRL and NRLW really outdid themselves this week, eclipsing the $100,000 raised last week with a host of colourful and creative post-try celebrations.

That’s right, week 2 of Try July saw an additional $115,000 raised for the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation (ASCF) and the Player Hardship Fund. This also means that Try July has now raised more than $1.5 million for different charitable causes since its inception in 2020.

There’s still another two rounds of celebrations and donations to be had, including this week, so you can expect that figure to continue to grow*

Missed the festivities last week? Read our recap of some of the best celebrations from week two of Try July and then check them out for yourself at the video at the top of the page.

The Worm – Stephanie Faulkner

Normally reserved for wedding dancefloors, Cronulla winger Stephanie Faulkner decided to mark her first ever try in the NRLW with ‘the worm.’

Pretty Flippin’ Good – Reece Walsh

Broncos’ fullback Reece Walsh showed off the full extent of his athleticism in his side’s win over M1 rivals the Titans last week.

Scoring after a clear run to the line, Reece Lightning pulled out a perfect backflip to mark the occasion and more than stuck the landing.

Hey Macarena! – Emma Verran

If you’ve just scored your fourth try of the game, how do you celebrate? Well, for Emma Verran and her Cronulla teammates the answer was pretty obvious – by doing the Macarena!

That’s the Tea – Paul Alamoti

Drink it up, Paul. After scoring a classy four-pointer in his side’s win over Western rivals Parramatta, Penrith winger Paul Alamoti got out his finest crockery and had a well-deserved sip of tea.

Grenade! – Sheridan Gallagher

Imitation is the highest form of flattery as they say. Last week, we saw a classic NRL celebration recreated when Zali Hopkins channelled her inner Piggy Riddell and this week we saw another get pulled out of the archives.

Newcastle winger and her teammates paid homage to Bryan Fletcher’s iconic State of Origin celebration in their win over the Cowboys.

Surfs Up – Rocco Berry

It feels like this one comes out every Try July, but you won’t hear us complaining. This year Warriors outside back Rocco Berry decided it was his turn to ride the Try July wave after opening the scoring against the Tigers.
