Sportsbet’s Try July is returning in 2025 — and we’re once again putting our money where the mouthguards are.

From Thursday 3 July to Sunday 27 July, every single try celebration across the NRL, NRLW, and State of Origin Game III Sportsbet will donate $5,000 to two incredible causes: the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation (ASCF) and the Player Hardship Fund.

From somersaults to TikTok dances, handshakes to hugs, every celebration counts and will help make a difference to two very deserving charities.

This year also marks a first for Try July, as NRLW players get a full four rounds to join in the fun. That means even more tries, more celebrations, and more donations – all while showcasing the unstoppable spirit of rugby league’s rising stars across both the men’s and women’s games.

Try July has always been about more than just footy – it’s about giving back. Since we kicked things off in 2020, Sportsbet and the Rugby League community have raised over $1.4 million for players, families, and health charities that hit close to home.

Try July 2025 Beneficiaries

Australian Skin Cancer Foundation (ASCF)

The first beneficiary this year’s donations will help is the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation.

Sportsbet’s donations will allow the ASCF to roll out a second mobile skin check truck – taking early detection and prevention to regional and remote communities where services are often out of reach.

“Over 95% of skin cancers can be successfully treated if found early,” says Jay Allen, ASCF's Founder and CEO. “Thanks to Sportsbet, we’re one step closer to saving more Aussie lives.”

Player Hardship Fund

The other beneficiary of Try July 2025 is the Player Hardship Fund, which was created to support players and families facing serious illness, injury, or financial struggle.

“It’s incredible to see Sportsbet step up for this fund,” says Clint Newton, RLPA CEO. “Try July has helped players like Mose Masoe and Nathan Stapleton — and now this new fund ensures we can continue that support for years to come.”

Sportsbet CEO, Barni Evans said Try July is a fantastic concept and the money raised each year is something that everyone at Sportsbet is proud of.

"Try July has grown into something really special, and I want to thank the RLPA and the players for continuing to bring it to life in such a fun and meaningful way. Their creativity and commitment on and off the field is what makes this initiative so powerful. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made together since 2020, and we can’t wait to see what the players deliver this year."
