NRL Injury News Summary – Round 17:

- Latrell Mitchell is targeting a Round 17 return against Parramatta after recovering from a bulging disc, with a potential NSW Origin recall on the line.

- Roosters back-rower Angus Crichton faces an extended stint on the sidelines, with coach Trent Robinson confirming it "won't be a week or two".

- Warriors prop Jackson Ford was forced off with a suspected pectoral injury, while James Tedesco played through a broken nose to lift the Roosters past the Sharks.

- The Sharks welcome back Nicho Hynes and Blayke Brailey but lose Toby Rudolf for 4-6 weeks with a medial ligament strain.

Latrell Mitchell Locked In for Eels Showdown

Sidelined since Round 11 with a bulging disc impacting his centre strength and mobility, Mitchell told Fox League's Sunday Night with Matty Johns the injury has finally settled.

"It was a disc at the start. I got an injection. It has settled down since then. I'm looking forward to getting back this week against Parra," Mitchell said.

The final call rests with Wayne Bennett following Monday's session, but if Mitchell emerges unscathed, he's a strong chance to slot in at left centre for the Blues in the Origin decider.

Crichton Blow Hits Roosters Hard

The Tricolours are sweating on Kangaroos back-rower Angus Crichton, who was a late scratching from Sunday's win over the Sharks. Coach Trent Robinson confirmed the injury is no minor concern.

"He's got to see a specialist on Tuesday. It won't be a week or two," Robinson said.

Skipper James Tedesco offered a different kind of toughness, playing the full 80 minutes with a broken nose. "He's not as pretty as what he was before the game," Robinson joked.

Warriors Sweat on Ford Scans

The Warriors copped an early blow in Christchurch when in-form prop Jackson Ford left the field after 20 minutes clutching his pec. Coach Andrew Webster is hoping for the best after Ford returned to the bench without a sling.

"We don't know if it's minor or big, we'll find out when we scan," Webster said. A worst-case scenario could see Ford require surgery and miss the rest of the 2026 campaign.

NRL Infirmary Wrap: Sharks Boost, Tigers Toll

Cronulla received timely reinforcements with halfback Nicho Hynes (calf) and hooker Blayke Brailey (arm) returning for the Roosters clash.

However, Toby Rudolf is facing 4-6 weeks out with a medial ligament strain.

Other key updates from across the competition:

Sea Eagles: Brandon Wakeham (calf) and Kobe Hetherington (Category 1 HIA) both sidelined.

Titans: Cooper Bai (failed HIA) and Jensen Taumoepeau (serious ankle injury) added to the casualty list.

Wests Tigers: Jock Madden (failed HIA) and Patrick Herbert (dislocated shoulder) face stints on the sidelines.

Dolphins: Isaiya Katoa ruled out with a medial knee issue

Knights: Pasami Saulo facing eight weeks after foot surgery

Bulldogs: Jacob Preston rated "50-50" for a Round 17 comeback from a broken arm, per coach Cameron Ciraldo.

With Origin selections, finals positioning and NRL premiership markets all in play, the casualty ward continues to shape the 2026 landscape heading into Round 17.
