The next major event on the wrestling calendar is as big as it gets, with the WWE SummerSlam 2026 set to go down this weekend.

Running across two nights at U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, there are no less than six championship matches on the cards for fans to enjoy. 

There are storylines galore as CM Punk defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns puts the World Heavyweight title on the line against Seth Rollins, and five women compete in a ladder match for the interim Women's Championship vacated by Rhea Ripley.

CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes: Undisputed WWE Championship Prediction

CM Punk enters SummerSlam as the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, but this rivalry with Cody Rhodes is still finding its feet. 

The feud is early enough that both men are still feeling each other out, on the mic and in the ring, which actually makes this match harder to predict than most title bouts.

The most intriguing subplot heading into Minneapolis is the whisper of a Cody Rhodes heel turn. 

Rhodes has built his entire character around being the babyface who "finished the story," so flipping that narrative would be a bold creative swing. 

If WWE pulls the trigger, it likely sets up a longer programme between the two rather than a clean title change.

Prediction: CM Punk. 

Liv Morgan vs Iyo Sky: Women's World Championship Prediction

Liv Morgan heads into SummerSlam as Women's World Champion, but Iyo Sky has already proven she can get the better of her. Sky earned this title shot by defeating Morgan during the Queen of the Ring tournament at Night of Champions, a result that gave her enormous momentum and made this rematch feel inevitable.

Sky is one of the most technically gifted women on the roster, and a clean win here would do wonders for her title reign. 

Morgan, however, has shown she knows how to hold onto gold when the moment calls for it, and she'll be fighting with extra motivation given the circumstances.

Prediction: Iyo Sky. 

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins: World Heavyweight Championship Prediction 

Roman Reigns holds the World Heavyweight Championship, and Seth Rollins is the man coming for it. This rivalry stretches back years — the two have a complicated history that oscillates between brotherhood and betrayal, which gives every match between them an extra emotional layer.

Rollins has been one of WWE's most consistent performers for the better part of a decade, and a clean win over Reigns for a world title would represent a legitimate career milestone. 

Reigns, meanwhile, remains one of the company's biggest draws regardless of face or heel alignment, and losing the title doesn't necessarily diminish his standing.

Prediction: Seth Rollins. 

Interim WWE Women's Championship Ladder Match Prediction 

The interim Women's Championship exists because Rhea Ripley suffered a knee injury, vacating the title she'd carried with dominance. 

In her absence, WWE has assembled a five-woman ladder match to crown an interim champion, and the lineup is genuinely competitive.

Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, and Tiffany Stratton are confirmed, with a fifth entrant to be determined by a qualifier match between Giulia and Lash Legend on SmackDown. 

Every woman in this match has a credible case for winning, which makes the unpredictability part of the appeal.

All in all, Flair's experience in high-stakes matches gives her an edge, and holding a title while Ripley recovers sets up a compelling programme down the track. That said, Tiffany Stratton is the dark horse here — don't count her out.

Penta vs Chad Gable: Men's Intercontinental Championship Prediction

Penta is the reigning Intercontinental Champion, but this match belongs emotionally to Chad Gable. 

His redemption arc has been one of the more compelling slow-burn stories WWE has told recently, a man who's been overlooked, underestimated, and pushed to his limits, all pointing toward one goal: the IC title.

Penta brings an unorthodox style and legitimate in-ring credibility to the defence, which means Gable won't have it easy. But the storytelling around Gable has been too deliberate and too consistent for this moment not to pay off.

Prediction: Chad Gable.

Trick Williams vs Baron Corbin: Men's United States Championship Prediction 

Trick Williams defends the United States Championship against Baron Corbin, who earned his shot the old-fashioned way with a post-SmackDown sneak attack. 

It's a classic heel move, and it immediately established Corbin as the villain of this feud.

Williams is a rising star with genuine crowd support, and this feels like a match designed to reinforce his credibility rather than strip him of it. 

Corbin is a seasoned veteran who knows how to generate heat, but his ceiling in this particular programme seems to be making Williams look strong in victory.

Prediction: Trick Williams.
