Super Bowl 2024 Betting Tips & Predictions

09/02/2024|Josh Jenkins|NFL Tips & Predictions

For the very first time, Super Bowl LVIII is here, live from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The world is holding its collective breath as the build up continues and the teams prepare for the big dance.

Ticket prices are beyond what you and I can afford so we will settle for catching the TV coverage on Monday morning. I mean, $2.5m for a suite seems a little steep, but who are we to judge?

On the field, Quarterback is where every NFL game starts and ends. This QB battle is fascinating. The blue-blood with two rings already stacked and a $480m contract in his keeping.

His nemesis, Mr Irrelevant! Pick 262 in the draft. A second-year QB who has defied everyone. Even the knockers try and argue with his incredible stats and amazing efficiency. Brock Purdy is real sturdy! I am all in on Purdy – I love him.

From a coaching standpoint, both men are proven gurus. Andy Reid has the rings to prove it, but Kyle Shanahan is widely regarded as one of the premier play-callers in the league.

He’s been to Super Bowls as a coordinator and head coach and this is his next best chance to secure a Lombardi like his father, Mike, did twice.

Much has been made of the playmakers on the Niners D. Fred Warner is a premier linebacker whilst up front, Nick Bosa is a beast and Chase Young is more than capable of ruining a series with sacks and QB pressures.

Kansas City’s defence has been more stealthy this season but equally effective. Chris Jones is the headline act but, man, he has some helpers in the red and white.

We also have two truly great tight ends. One is Tay Tay’s guy – Travis Kelce - and the other is George Kittle, a two-time All Pro.

Remember – we have seen this movie before. In 2020 it was Mahomes and the Chiefs against San Fran, but Jimmy G was the Niners QB back then and he was unable to make the killer blow throws in Q4 to snuff out the Kansas City comeback. Purdy is more capable of making those key throws down the stretch.

Then there’s Christian McCaffrey. His play has souped up this offence in ways few could imagine. Whilst most running backs are seeing their value diminish, his is at an all-time high on the back of an amazing statistical season.

1,459 rush yards (his best ever), 14 rushing touchdowns, 83 catches and 7 more scores. His total numbers are eye-popping – 2,023 yards and 21 TD.

That’s all before we include his four playoff touchdowns in just two matches. Purdy is the quarterback and his value will always supersede anyone else (look at last season’s NFC championship game for proof) but CMC has added something truly special to this offence. He’s a genuine MVP candidate should things fall the Niners way.

All in all, we look set for a special. A Vegas special. The stars will be in the house, too many to name. The halftime show will be epic because it almost always is.

So, who wins? If it’s San Francisco, it’ll cap a truly dominant season and add a ring to a very successful era. If it’s Kansas City, it will be a third ring for the core of Reid, Mahomes and Kelce and maybe their most special, after overcoming drama, injury, poor form, and frustration for much of the season. May the best team on the day win.

Tip: Kansas City 24 - San Francisco 22.

Super Bowl 2024 Best Bets

Kansas City H2H ($2.10) – I mean, I’ve picked them to win so I got to go with KC, but I do feel this H2H market should be much closer than we’re seeing.

Rashee Rice anytime TD ($2.50) – This guy will be a ‘must-have’ for Fantasy Football next season and a Super Bowl TD will only emphasise that.

Deebo Samuel anytime TD ($2.55) – I’m trusting the fortnight of rest has allowed Deebo to get healthy and get ready to rock. He can score as a receiver or running back.

Travis Kelce 25+ receiving yards each alf ($2.55) – He’s a truly great TE and he’s proven so in these playoffs, so you know Mahomes is going to find him early, often, and late.

Super Bowl 2024 Best Value Bet

Isiah Pacheco 30+ rushing yards each half ($3) – The Lions proved you can run the rock on San Fran’s D. 182 yards and three TDs was the total Detroit amassed so Pacheco can do some damage here.

Super Bowl 2024 Best SGM

KC ALT line -2.5 / I Pacheco 60+ rush yards / T Kelce 60+ receiving yards / D Samuel ATL rush yards 25+ ($15.75).

Super Bowl 2024 First Touchdown

SF - Deebo Samuel ($10.50)

KC - Patrick Mahomes ($21)

I’ve also been digging around the Sportsbet app and low and behold, we have ourselves a few hundred markets to deep dive for Super Bowl LVIII.

A few of my mates and I are very torn. We have a nice all-in ticket with San Francisco printed on it but are leaning toward Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City as our pick. That’s our problem though, so I’ll save you the time.

When it comes to some of the Super Bowl 2024 specials – here are a few I like. So check out my Super Bowl 2024 betting tips and predictions and make sure to keep an eye out for a guest T.Swift appearance at both the Super Bowl and in these tips!

Super Bowl 2024 Betting Tips - The Specials

Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy to Combine for 50+ Rush Yards ($2.35)

These two are both underrated athletes. Purdy was actually preferred over Trey Lance because his athletic ability was superior.

However, he’s been such an accurate passer, as well as having Christian McCaffrey alongside him, he’s rarely had a chance to run the rock. In the NFC Championship game, he amassed 48 yards on just five carries.

Of course, the preference is for him not to need to scamper but through two playoff games, he’s had 11 carries combined. Should he get another handful in the Super Bowl then we will be halfway home.

Mahomes is a more proven ball-carrier. He was good for only 15 yards in the AFC title game but did have six attempts.

In the Divisional Round he had another six runs for just 19 yards but showed some burst in the Wildcard clash with Miami, going for 41 yards on just two carries.

Chris Jones and Nick Bosa to Record +0.5 Sacks Each ($2.95)

Jones and Bosa are two of the NFL’s sack-masters! Both had 10.5 sacks during the regular season. They would’ve recorded more if not for regular double-teams and the occasional triple-team.

Jones had one set of plays in the AFC title game where he applied pressure to the QB, then made a stop before batting down a pass at the line of scrimmage.

He was everywhere! Bosa is a similarly talented defensive end. He was the 2022 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and an All-Pro. Jones is a back-to-back All Pro in ’22 and ’23.

Both will surely make their presence felt at some point!

A 75+ Yard Receiving Touchdown to be Scored

Hey, why not? I’d love this to be receiving or rushing (I’ll have a word with the traders) but both Mahomes and Purdy are more than capable.

Kansas City have five players in its receiving core who have had a 40+ yard reception, so we know there’s some explosiveness amongst them.

Brandon Aiyuk (76 yards), George Kittle (66 yards) and Deebo Samuel (54 yards) are all more than capable of chunk plays.

It’s unlikely, sure, but the ingredients are there for someone to go 75+ to the house!

Deebo Samuel to score 1+ Rushing TD and 1+ Receiving TD

I’m aware Deebo is carrying an injured wing. But these NFL medics can do amazing things in a fortnight.

Remember how badly Mahomes’ high ankle sprain was last season? He seemed more than ok in the Super Bowl.

Deebo is a big game player and an animal with the ball in hand. He competes for touchdowns with his own teammates nearly as much as he does with those on the opposition.

This is one I can see landing. I’ll be on. Deebo is my guy!

So, there are a few we can play nice and early for the big game in Las Vegas. Championship Weekend was kind to us.

We nailed both games and found some success with Brandon Aiyuk and Travis Kelce getting in the end zone for us. Here’s hoping the luck continues.

Super Bowl 2024 Betting Tips (Taylor’s Version)

While everyone is obviously waiting in anticipation for the action on the field, for some, the real action on Super Bowl Sunday will be happening in the stands.

The Kansas City Chiefs qualification for this year’s Super Bowl means one thing – it’s Taylor time!

Yes, that’s right. A legion of Swifties will be tuning in just to sneak a peek at international pop star Taylor Swift, who is of course dating KC’s legendary Tight End Travis Kelce.

Naturally, this means Sportsbet have wheeled out a number of entertaining markets for all the T.Swift enthusiasts who will be tuning in to see their idol.

Even if you’re not an out and out Swifty, chances are we’ve got a market for you. We’ve also got betting tips for all the major Taylor themed markets, because here at the Huddle we know All Too Well how many Taylor tragics will be wanting to wager on at least one of these markets.

Will Travis Kelce Propose to Taylor Swift

Two rings in one day? Imagine. Surely this market hinges on whether the Chiefs win or not, so factor that into your decision making.

Ultimately, it’s probably a little too soon for Kelce to get down on bended knee even if KC get the win, so a proposal is very unlikely.

However, If Kelce does jump the gun and pull the trigger on a premature proposal, we for one hope he streamlines proceedings and uses his Super Bowl ring, now wouldn’t that be something.

Prediction: Travis Kelce to propose? Only in your Wildest Dreams.

Number of Times Taylor Swift Will be Shown During the Game

There has been plenty of chatter in recent weeks about the amount of times Taylor gets shown on screen whenever the Chiefs play.

If you’re one of the people who think she’s popping up mid-game a little too often, this is the market for you.

A traditional over/under market with a Taylor themed twist. Will the Midnights hitmaker be shown during the 2024 Super Bowl over or under 7.5 times?

Prediction: Call it a Fearless prediction - Taylor to be shown over 7.5 times.

Will Taylor Swift be Shown on Camera During the Super Bowl Half Time Show

If our previous prediction of Taylor to be shown throughout the Super Bowl over 7.5 comes to fruition, surely one of those times will be during the half time show.

With Usher performing, we expect a cutaway to her mouthing every word of “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love.”

Prediction: Yes – we expect her to be caught singing along in Style.

Will Usher Perform a Taylor Swift Song During the Half Time Show?

Speaking of the half time show, what are the chances of Usher whipping out a cheeky Taylor Swift cover during his performance?

Has he got the pipes to pull off a rendition of Cruel Summer or Blank Space? Personally, we can’t see it happening, although Usher belting out Love Story in front of a global audience of over a 100 million people would be quite something.

Prediction: No – You Need to Calm Down; Usher can’t pull that off.
