NFL Preview – Week 2 Tips & Predictions

09/09/2025|Josh Jenkins|NFL Tips & Predictions

A solid - if not spectacular - beginning here on The Huddle for our NFL previews.

We miraculously pulled out the Bills' 1-13 win over the Ravens, despite being down 15 points in the fourth quarter and looking like dead ducks.

For those tracking the videos on the Sportsbet app, we landed 2/4 touchdown scorers. Not bad, but not what we’re gunning for!

Onto week two!

For the latest NFL news, predictions, and betting tips, read on with my NFL Tips & Predictions for week 2 below!

Washington Commanders vs Green Bay Packers

Friday, September 12th, 10:15 AM, AEST, Lambeau Field, Green Bay

This looks like the marquee contest of week two, but also the toughest physically on these players.

There’s no soreness like post-week one soreness, and these athletes have to back up just four days on.

The Packers have the luxury of back-to-back home games, which helps. Washington hosted - and handled - New York in their opener, and even though the plane ride to sleepy Green Bay is short, it’s still a road trip off just four days of prep.

The Commanders looked good offensively and staunch defensively. Jayden Daniels was in command, whilst Deebo Samuel was at his tackle-breaking best, finding the end zone in his maiden Washington outing.

Jordan Love was as impressive as any QB across the opening weekend.

16/22 for 188 and two scores. His pocket was clean at all times, and his receivers were open and on point.

And Micah Parsons will continue to grow with this team as he learns the playbook and gets into game condition.

Betting tip: Packers 24 - Commanders 22

Best Bet: Josh Jacobs 70+ rush yards & Jayden Daniels 40+ rush yards

Atlanta Falcons vs Minnesota Vikings

Monday, September 15th, 10:20 AM AEST, US Bank Stadium, Minnesota

Hardly an out-and-out showstopper for Sunday Night Football, but two intriguing teams nevertheless.

The Falcons had the win, then took the L against NFC South rivals, Tampa. Michael Penix Jr dived into the end zone for the go-ahead score, only to see Baker Mayfield drive the field and deliver a dime to take back the lead - and seal the win.

Bijan Robinson was a stud in the passing game but less effective in the run game. They’ll be keen for him to be more prominent with the ball under his wing.

Kyle Pitts and Drake London were solid, but the D simply could not get the stops required on that final drive.

The Vikings are a threatening team, chocked of talent. We know the major question will be quarterback play, but JJ McCarthy is surrounded by excellent coaching, star playmakers, and a great defence.

His debut was really rough until it was better! His first TD went to the opposition, but then he found his rhythm, passing for two scores and rushing one in of his own.

At Chicago, that was an impressive win for McCarthy on debut.

Betting tip: Vikings 24 - Falcons 21

Best Bet: Justin Jefferson 100+ yards

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Houston Texans

Tuesday, September 16th, 09:00 AM AEST, NRG Stadium, Houston

Life as a Buccaneer has been good to Baker Mayfield.

But equally, he has been good to them in the post-Tom Brady era.

In week one, he delivered a come-from-behind win over their rival Falcons. His TD pass to rookie Emeka Egbuka was a strike.

The Texans worried me in week one.

I know, overreacting is dangerous, but CJ Stroud did not throw for a TD and threw for less than 200 yards. His QBR of 43.3 was ranked No. 23 across the NFL. He needs to play better than he did.

Houston really needs to bounce back hard. It’s week two, so no panicking yet, but a win - or at least a strong showing - is required.

Betting tip: Texans 23 - Buccaneers 21

Best Bet: Nico Collins anytime Touchdown

LA Chargers vs Las Vegas Raiders

Tuesday, September 16th, 12:00 PM AEST, Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas

We get a double helping of Tuesday morning Football with two improving squads out west going head-to-head.

The Chargers went to Brazil and knocked down the Chiefs, whilst I was impressed with Vegas’ win in New England.

Brock Bowers is an absolute weapon. He already looks like a future Hall of Fame-type player for the Raiders.

Ashton Jeanty scored his maiden TD in game one, but he will also improve in the run game as he goes.

LA plays staunch D. They run the ball and force mistakes from the opponent. Geno Smith will need to look after the ball and play a smart game.

This could be a sneaky good game between AFC West rivals.

Betting tip: Chargers 21 - Raiders 20

Best Bet: Vegas +3.5

NFL 2025/26 Super Bowl LX Championship Odds:
