Betting Preview

New Zealand are one of just two teams, along with South Africa, to still maintain a 100% record after the first three rounds of games.

The All Blacks have produced impressive performances as hosts, but now it’s time for them to try their hand on the road.

At home, they have defeated France (34-32), Italy (47-17), and Ireland (40-21), and will enter the next phase of the tournament with dominant back-to-back performances against Australia.

It was a turnaround in form for Dave Rennie’s side, having previously lost all three Tests in South Africa to the Springboks.

Gregor Townsend will already have known his Scotland side are likely to face an uphill battle against the All Blacks at Murrayfield before his team was struck down with more injuries.

Jamie Ritchie and Elliot Millar Mills have both been ruled out through injury, leaving a void of experience in the team, which has a combined international cap tally of just 78.

Uncapped tighthead prop Ollie Blyth-Lafferty joins the team, while experienced prop D'Arcy Rae returns, as does Edinburgh flanker Freddy Douglas, who was part of the team that beat Fiji 33-17 in Round 3.

Round 1’s 47-38 victory against Argentina started their campaign in the best way possible before their 42-28 defeat to the Springboks in Round 2.

Betting Markets to Watch

New Zealand have been made strong favourites in the early moneyline market, with the price reflective of their dominance in rugby union.

The All Blacks are ranked as the world’s number 2 nation, and are just a few ranking points short of SA at the top. If you are weighing the moneyline against the handicap and half-margin options here, our Rugby Championship betting guide walks through how each of these markets works.

Scotland, though, but with their injuries, the number six ranked nation will have to be on their best form on Sunday and hope the All Blacks suffer a performance dip.

The 1st half point margin market could have some value away from the moneyline. New Zealand to win by 1-7 is worth exploring, as Scotland can aim to use home conditions as an advantage and keep things tight, having done so in the past against other nations.

Remember, against South Africa, the half-time score was tied at 14-14.

Alternative value may also be found in the 1st half match betting market, with New Zealand favoured . The All Blacks have started fast in previous encounters at Murrayfield, including holding a 17-0 lead in November 2025.

Our Prediction

Check the latest Scotland vs New Zealand betting odds at Sportsbet.

We think the most likely outcome is a New Zealand win.

If they can keep things tight throughout the entire contest, there’s additional value in the All Blacks winning the game by a margin of between 7-14 points.

This has value, leaving potential value in the Scotland handicap (+9.5), although this might be a long shot, as the market appears to deem a +15-point victory the most probable outcome.
