Kallos ticks all the boxes. Track specialist (3 wins down the straight); fitter (third up) and jockey (James McDonald).

Expect to back two mares in this race. Mollynickers will appreciate the drop in class and the 1600m. So Glamorous can improve on her recent form. Barrier one is a bonus. Back them both and box them with the field in the trifecta.

Liked the way Sydney filly Zoubaby hit the line chasing the smart Certain Rise at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate day. She is a filly of immense promise and barrier 12 will suit her.

Australia’s best 3YO staying fillies gather for the historic VRC Oaks – first run in 1859! It’s the clash of the Melbourne and Sydney fillies and their different form lines. Improving filly Squeezebox is trained by James Cummings. Beaten by a handy one last start, but she got to the line to suggest the 1600m is perfect for her.
