Lightly raced Placentia Bay was luckless at his most recent run at Cranbourne when he was caught wide. Barrier 2 should see him on the pace and be hard to beat.

Imported galloper Cosmic Vega resumed in the Moonga Stakes at Caulfield, and he should have finished a bit closer than eighth after running out of room in the last 100m. His overseas form suggests he can improve from a drop in class.
