Sportsbet-Pakenham Synthetic Racing Tips

Race 3 (1.30 pm): Maiden Plate (1200m)

There were big expectations for Comanche Miss when she resumed at Caulfield on July 27, but she didn’t fire. Trainer Phillip Stokes reported that she didn’t handle the wet track. He rates her a Group-class filly. Gets back on the synthetic at home where she won a trial on July 16.

Race 4 (2,00 pm) Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate (1400m)

Locally trained by the Hayes brothers. She caught the eye with her third behind Ruby Of Gold at Pakenham Synthetic (1200m) on July 18 when trapped wide throughout. Extra 200m looks ideal and she’s poised to win.

Moruya Racing Tips

Race 2 (1.45 pm): Maiden Handicap (1020m)

One of the more interesting runners on this program. Won a Randwick trial in May 2022 and was sent to Hong Kong, where he was placed twice in seven starts. He returns to his original trainers, Jim and Greg Lee, who have given him two trials at Randwick in June – including a win over 740m – and freshened him for his return. This looks an ideal race for him and more than happy to back the Lees have him right.

Race 4 (2.55 pm): Class 2 Handicap (1020m)

Former Bjorn Baker galloper having her first run for local trainer Mark Gee. Comes off two sound seconds on wet tracks at Wyong and Muswellbrook, but it’s worth noting her only run on a good surface (which she will likely get here) resulted in an easy win at Wyong. She looks like a good each-way play.

Lismore Racing Tips

Race 4 (2.40pm): Class 1 & Maiden Plate (2120m)

Former Victorian who has run well in his four northern starts for trainer Christos Zintilis, culminating in a solid last-start Toowoomba win (2150m) on July 20. Drawn to track the pace as he did at Toowoomba.

Race 6 (3.50 pm): Benchmark 58 (1120m)

Free-striding grey who resumes from a break. Back in December, he bowled along in front to win a Super Maiden (1200m) at Murwillumbah. Bolted in a recent Murwillumbah trial, which suggests he’s come back in good form. Andrew Mallyon rides from barrier 1.

Dalby Racing Tips

Race 6 (3.32 pm) Class 2 Handicap (1400m)

The newly formed training partnership of Annabel Neasham and Rob Archibald have found the right race for Sibelius, who will find this a lot easier than his last start fourth at Eagle Farm, beaten only three lengths, on July 20. Won well at Ipswich before that. Leading young rider Kyle Wilson-Taylor rides and the step to 1400m is perfect.

Daily Racing Tips – Play of the Day

Pakenham Race 3: Quinella

Comanche Miss looks the winner, but Si Si Milano was huge on debut on the same track when badly checked at the start. Take the quinella, nos. 9 & 11.
