Singapore Grand Prix

It’s back-to-back F1 street circuits with this week’s Singapore Grand Prix.

The season has been turned upside down with the resurgence of McLaren and the puzzling drop-off of Max Verstappen.

Oscar Piastri held off Charles Leclerc to win last week’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix and now McLaren lead the Constructors race by 20 points over Red Bull.

Verstappen still leads the Drivers Standings by 59 points but that’s primarily because Leclerc, Piastri and Lando Norris continue to share the spoils.

The Marina Bay circuit in Singapore is a long, hot race and one that has seen unpredictable results over the past few years.

Carlos Sainz won last year’s race ahead of Norris and Lewis Hamilton, while Sergio Perez finished first in 2022 with Leclerc and Sainz in second and third.

There were no races in 2021 and 2020 because of the pandemic.

The weather forecast calls for 31 degrees and thunderstorms on Friday but qualifying and race day should be cooler and drier.

Singapore Grand Prix Betting Tips

Best Bet

Oscar Piastri $1.54 (Podium Finish)

Piastri won last week in Baku, finished second at Monza and has been on the podium in five of the last seven races.

Next Best

Lando Norris $2.75 (Outright Betting)

Ironically, Piastri’s win last week came after McLaren announced they were junking their ‘Papaya Rules’ and favouring Norris in any close race. Lando was second in Singapore last year and fourth in 2022 and he’ll be keen to re-establish himself as the McLaren top dog.

Value Bet

Charles Leclerc/Lando Norris/Oscar Piastri $4.33 (Boxed Trifecta)

These three have finished on the podium in the last two races and given the current state of play, there’s a good chance it happens again. Remember the Boxed Trifecta is these three drivers in any order.

Piastri Bet

Oscar Piastri $1.54 (Podium Finish)

It worked last week, so once again, let’s consider this week’s Best Bet as our Piastri Bet.

Ricciardo Bet

Daniel Ricciardo $4.30 (Points Finish)

There are strong rumours that this could be Ricciardo’s last race, with Liam Lawson potentially jumping into the seat after Singapore. If this is a Danny Ric finale, we’re hoping once again for a Points Finish, with that bet providing the best value. Ricciardo did finish 5th here in 2022.
