EPL Matchweek 4

Arsenal’s outstanding performance in their 2-1 win over Chelsea was the main talking point of Premier League Matchweek 3.

Elsewhere, there were confidence boosting victories for Manchester City and Liverpool, while Manchester United twice threw away the lead against Everton. Hull City, meanwhile, continued their fine start to life in the top-flight with another point.

Attention now turns to Matchweek 4, with the Manchester derby being just one of the fixtures which is looking particularly mouthwatering…

Quick Picks

Our pick: Chelsea to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

Value bet: Bournemouth vs Brentford Draw

Long shot: Nottingham Forest to Win

Betting Markets to Watch

The Manchester derby is undoubtedly the game of the week, but for punters it’s not the easiest to unravel.

United have home advantage and defeated City in the last Manchester derby back in January. However, they have 48 hours less preparation time for this edition due to their Champions League scheduling and haven’t started the season in particularly good form.

Just four points separated Bournemouth and Brentford in the Premier League table last season, and once again both of these teams look capable of finishing anywhere between sixth and 12 th in the league.

On paper, they are extremely well matched and their last meeting finished 0-0… so could another draw be on the cards this week?

Chelsea and Liverpool should, in theory, wrap up home victories against Hull City and Fulham respectively. Chelsea are particularly interesting and look full of goals with their front three of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Morgan Rogers.

Hull, whose results are not backed by strong underlying performance data, could feel their full force at Stamford Bridge. This could be a goal-laden encounter, with many tipping Fulham to badly struggle this season.

Aston Villa embark on a Champions League adventure with a remarkably different squad to the one that they had last season; Emi Martinez, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Rogers, Lucas Digne and Ezri Konsa just some of those that have departed the club.

They have a UCL engagement on Tuesday to get through as well, so you wonder if Nottingham Forest – who were good value for draws against Liverpool and Tottenham – might be on course for an upset victory at Villa Park .

And can Tottenham secure a rare Premier League win against Everton? You’d like to think they are at least going to break their goal drought in their fourth game of the season.

Chelsea are our top prediction this week, and while short in the market those odds can be enhanced by backing them to win with the Over 2.5 Goals kicker – they look primed to score at least twice on home soil.

It’s hard to imagine either side truly dominating the Bournemouth vs Brentford game , with their last meeting ending in a stalemate. There’s good value in backing another draw on Sunday.

Unai Emery will have his hands full in managing a domestic and continental campaign with Aston Villa’s thin and young squad. In Nottingham Forest , the Villains face an often-underrated opponent, with Forest represent excellent betting value on Sunday.
