AFL Tips and Predictions - Round 14 2026

10/06/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Round 13 was a long one.

A Thursday night thriller into a Friday night thriller into a massacre in Bunbury into a classic in Sydney into a King’s Birthday eve special between two sleeping giants.

And it all paled into comparison when the footy world gathered to honour Neale Daniher and keep pursuing the fight against MND.

88,000 packed to The ‘G in beautiful conditions as the Dees remained perfect at the home of footy in 2026.

Punting-wise for us, we were OK. Essendon and a close game in Perth did us solids.

Onto Round 14 - and what a round it is.

Western Bulldogs vs Adelaide Crows Prediction

Thursday, June 11, 7:30pm AEST - Marvel Stadium, Melbourne

This looms as a cracking contest with the gritty Dogs hanging tough minus some soldiers and Adelaide desperately aiming to get their season rolling for real.

Jordan Dawson was heroic last week and can be again with a handy recent record against these Doggies. Adelaide have opted against hard tags this season, but I’d re-think that path with Marcus Bontempelli and Ed Richards in sparkling form.

The Crows will enjoy the speed inside Marvel Stadium, and the corresponding clash last season was a memorable game with big Riley Thilthorpe tearing up the Dogs' defence.

Are Adelaide ready to announce themselves in 2026?

Head-to-Head Prediction: Crows by 4 points.

Betting Tip: Josh Rachele 2+ goals.

Geelong Cats vs Gold Coast Suns Prediction

Friday, June 12, 7:40pm AEST - GMHBA Stadium, Geelong

Gold Coast served up a smacking to these Cats in Round Zero, but most were willing to give them a mulligan for the performance.

No such gimme exists here with Geelong arriving off two straight losses.

Last season, Gold Coast went to Kardinia Park and were strangled. It was a low-scoring, dour clash with the Suns only managing five goals in the rain.

Max Holmes had 40 disposals and 10 clearances in that one… Dimma was not happy… The Suns were again beaten up by big bro in the QClash, and a response is required.

Two pre-season contenders with an enormous amount at stake. This should be a hard-fought clash with consequences galore.

Head-to-Head Prediction: Cats by 11 points.

Betting Tip: Bailey Smith 33+ disposals.

Melbourne Demons vs Essendon Bombers Prediction

Saturday, June 13, 1:15pm AEST - MCG, Melbourne

The Demons were looking like world-beaters before getting ambushed in Gather Round by these Dons.

The win was an enormous pressure reliever, but the problem is - and has been - it’s been Essendon’s only win for the season. And we know what that’s meant for Brad Scott.

The Demons are a monster at The MCG. They overcame Collingwood on King’s Birthday to remain undefeated on the season, and this looms as another rolled gold opportunity for victory.

How competitive the Bombers can be is up for debate. They led and hung with the Blues last week, but these Demons are a far more potent operation than last week’s opponent.

Head-to-Head Prediction: Demons by 31 points.

Betting Tip: Latrelle Pickett 2+ goals.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs West Coast Eagles Prediction

Saturday, June 13, 4:15pm AEST - Optus Stadium, Perth

The Roos' opening weekend in WA went well… NOT!

A 124-point hammering at the hands of the rampaging Dockers will not bode well for future investments in “home” games on the road.

And the Eagles are a far more difficult proposition than when these games were sold to the WA government. In Harley Reid and Willem Duursma, the Eagles have a devastatingly good 1-2 punch for years to come.

Veterans Jake Waterman and Elliot Yeo are performing, while Tim Kelly is almost back to his best.

Tristan Xerri had his colours lowered by Luke Jackson (no shame in that), but he gets a chance to impact the game this week and allow Luke Davies-Uniacke, Harry Sheezel, Colby McKercher, and Jy Simpkin to bounce back and ensure the Roos leave WA with at least one win.

Two losses calls into question this whole process for North.

Head-to-Head Prediction: Kangaroos by 14 points.

Betting Tip: North Melbourne Big Win Little Win (1-39).

Port Adelaide Power vs Sydney Swans Prediction

Saturday, June 13, 7:35pm AEST - Adelaide Oval, Adelaide

Port Adelaide hung tough and did enough to upend the Eagles in WA.

They were under immense pressure late and found a way to hang in there, but the season is far from successful to this point. And for a club refusing to rebuild, what the actual outcome of this season becomes is anyone’s guess.

The Swans were hunted by St Kilda last week, but class rose.

30 touches and two goals from Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner went big with 29 and two more. Charlie Curnow was dangerous, while Malcolm Rosas and Hayden McLean also chimed in with multiple goals.

Adelaide Oval is rarely ever easy, but the Swans should’ve been jolted by their slow start last week and arrive here ready to do business.

Handling your business is an important part of being a powerhouse team.

Head-to-Head Prediction: Swans by 40 points.

Betting Tip: Charlie Curnow 4+ goals.

Richmond Tigers vs Brisbane Lions Prediction

Sunday, June 14, 1:10pm AEST - Ninja Stadium, Hobart

For the non-believers, Brisbane made you believe again for the 13th time since the beginning of 2024.

They went to work and handled their little Queensland brothers last week. Zac Bailey was great around the ball, Lachie Neale was dominant as usual, and young superstar Logan Morris kicked 7.4 in a truly epic display.

For the Tigers, enthusiasm and effort is the key here. The reigning champs might not be in their A1 state of mind, giving the Tiger Cubs a chance to jump them.

Of course, this one is in Tasmania, so overall enthusiasm for the contest might not be there from many. Including us.

Head-to-Head Prediction: Lions by 41 points.

Betting Tip: Charlie Cameron 3+ goals.

St Kilda Saints vs GWS Giants Prediction

Sunday, June 14, 3:15pm AEST - Marvel Stadium, Melbourne

The Saints were great but ultimately defeated in Sydney with mental errors costing them victory at the death last week.

Getting back to Marvel Stadium will be crucial to their chances here against a GWS squad I simply cannot wrap my head around.

One week they’re losing to West Coast after looking good early, then the next week they’re kicking 14 goals on the spin against the defending champions.

Their best likely beats the Saints, but the Saints are getting toward desperation mode.

Head-to-Head Prediction: Giants by 4 points.

Betting Tip: Lachie Ash 27+ disposals and Lachie Whitfield 27+ disposals.
