North Melbourne Kangaroos vs West Coast Eagles Prediction - Round 14 2026
11/06/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions
North Melbourne will attempt to right the wrongs of last weekend’s horrific performance in Bunbury when facing West Coast at Optus Stadium for Round 14.
This bizarre ‘home game’ for Roos takes place over 3000kms from North Melbourne at the literal home stadium of the Eagles. It’s here that North will have to start their run towards wildcard contention as they sit in 14th place on the ladder – at risk of drifting clear of the top 10.
North Melbourne’s humiliating 155-31 loss to Fremantle marked the equal-seventh-largest losing margin in club history, as well as the side’s fifth defeat in six matches.
The question remains whether the Roos’ lengthy rebuild is on the right track. They’ve shown glimpses throughout the season that they can play top-level footy, but it’s few and far between and at times they’re just out-enthused by their opposition.
These two clubs faced once before this season, that matchup saw the Eagles secure a surprise 111-94 victory during Round 2, led by 30 disposals from Harley Reid.
West Coast are 3-3 when playing an interstate side in Perth during 2026, including last weekend’s hotly contested 77-71 loss to Port Adelaide.
Tom McCarthy impressed during that defeat, totalling 31 disposals for 590 metres gained, while Jake Waterman slotted three goals.
Will North be finals bound? Or will the exciting young Eagles have enough to put them away in Perth?

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs West Coast Eagles Match Predictions and Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
The Roos' opening weekend in WA went well… NOT! A 124-point hammering at the hands of the rampaging Dockers will not bode well for future investments in “home” games on the road.
And the Eagles are a far more difficult proposition than when these games were sold to the WA government. In Harley Reid and Willem Duursma, the Eagles have a devastatingly good 1-2 punch for years to come.
Veterans Jake Waterman and Elliot Yeo are performing, while Tim Kelly is almost back to his best.
Two losses calls into question the administration at North, sure a quick buck is good, but isn’t the whole point of this competition to win matches?
In the Bunbury debacle, Tristan Xerri had his colours lowered by Luke Jackson (no shame in that), but he gets a chance to impact the game this week and allow Luke Davies-Uniacke, Harry Sheezel, Colby McKercher and Jy Simpkin to bounce back and ensure the Roos leave WA with at least one win.
We’re expecting the Roos to seriously lock in and turn it around this week – we’ve seen what they can do at their best.
Betting tip: Kangaroos by 14 points.
First Goal Scorer Prediction
Jake Waterman is our pick for the opening major as the Eagles play ‘away’ at Optus Stadium.
He's been playing very consistently for the Eagles this year and has become a real leader in the team, kicking goals regularly in what is usually a losing side.
With North Melbourne's backline under immense pressure and missing depth, expect the Eagles to look deep for Waterman to get the crowd involved in Perth.
Betting tip: Jake Waterman.
Most Disposals Prediction
We’re backing North Melbourne gun Harry Sheezel to find plenty of footy and lead the disposal count.
The Roos remain heavily dependent on a select handful of high-volume distributors to transition out of defence. With the ball constantly filtering through Sheezel's hands over four quarters each week, he’ll be thereabouts again.
Last week he recorded the second most possessions against the Dockers despite the Roos getting pumped.
Point being that Sheezel is heavily involved, win, lose, or draw.
Betting tip: Harry Sheezel.
