Fremantle Dockers vs Western Bulldogs Prediction - Round 21 2026
29/07/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions
A season-defining challenge awaits the Western Bulldogs when they head west to face Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Friday night in Round 21 of the AFL season.
The Dogs are hunting the top six and a potential double chance come September. Three wins on the trot after dispatching Richmond 105-48 on Saturday night.
The concern is their percentage - 96.8, the lowest of any top 10 side. A statement win over the competition leaders would help that along nicely.
Fremantle, meanwhile, are running through the rest of the comp. The Dockers demolished the Eagles 112-42 in the Derby on Friday night, with Murphy Reid claiming the Glendinning-Allan Medal, the youngest recipient in the award's history.
Freo could very well be the next superpower in the AFL competition.
Add Shai Bolton back into the lineup after last week's rest and Freo arrive at this one fresher, deeper and better equipped than when these sides last met.
On that occasion, the Dockers ran out 114-102 winners at Marvel Stadium in Round 8 and they've only improved since.
With the likes of Bontempelli, Naughton and Ed Richards; the Dogs have the players to win this game. But we can’t help but think these Dockers will keep on rolling.

Fremantle Dockers vs Western Bulldogs Prediction and Betting Tips
Head-to-Head Prediction
The Dogs scrounged through a half before thundering away from Richmond at Docklands last week. This is a very different proposition.
The ladder-leading Dockers are waiting at home, and unless there's a serious lapse in focus from Freo, the Dogs have got some serious ground to make up. Ed Richards and Bontempelli led the way as usual, and you'd back Justin Longmuir to have a plan or two ready for both of them.
Where the Dogs may find real problems is up forward; Treacy, Amiss and Voss as a front three is a genuine handful, and that battle will likely decide the margin
Freo with Bolton back in the mix is a more complete side than the one the Dogs know from Round 8. We think Freo will keep rolling all the way to a McClelland Trophy.
Head-to-head prediction: Fremantle Dockers by 31 points.
First Goal Scorer Prediction
Jye Amiss is third on the Coleman Medal board with 48 goals and he's booted four and five in his last two starts. When Fremantle want to set the tone at Optus Stadium, they go long to Amiss early and often.
Expect more of the same on Friday night.
Betting tip: Jye Amiss first goal scorer.
Most Disposals Prediction
Marcus Bontempelli. The champion always rises when the opposition gets harder, not easier. Twenty-nine touches against Richmond last week, and stepping up in class tends to bring out more of him, not less.
Freo will throw everything they have at him. He'll still get his touches and probably a handful of goals to boot.
Betting tip: Marcus Bontempelli most disposals.
AFL Same Game Multi Tips
Betting tip: Jye Amiss 3+ Goals / Josh Treacy 2+ Goals / Fremantle Dockers 1-39 / Marcus Bontempelli 2+ Goals.
