Fremantle Dockers vs Geelong Cats Prediction - Round 15 2026

17/06/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Fremantle hosts Geelong in what we’re expecting to be an absolute cracker of a contest at Optus Stadium.

These two sides met in Round One at GMHBA Stadium earlier this year in a game Fremantle led by 35 points before being run down, due in large part to a spectacular five-goal performance from Shannon Neale.

Since then, the Dockers have been the benchmark of the competition, winning a club-record 12 straight matches.

Most recently, they unleashed a brutal 124-point pounding of North Melbourne in Bunbury, which marked the largest winning margin in club history.

Meanwhile, Geelong have successfully regained some of their best form following consecutive defeats.

They recorded a cruisy 45-point win over the Gold Coast Suns at home last Friday, maintaining their narrow hold on the top four.

History also tells us that Geelong are the goods - having won each of their last three matches against Fremantle.

This Dockers team is a different beast altogether though and arguably the best side the Fremantle Club have ever fielded.

Fremantle Dockers vs Geelong Cats Prediction and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

The Dockers are deserving premiership favourites right now, but they face a fellow flag aspirant as the round commences in the west.

Geelong have been queried by many critics lately, but they remain a dangerous threat to most opponents with a premier midfield unit and a highly potent forward mix.

Fremantle have hardly missed a beat this season, though they will remember their Round One clash vividly.

The Dockers were far too lethal in the early stages of that game before the Cats lengthened the ground and ran them down in a thriller.

Justin Longmuir’s men will have learned plenty from that tactical fade-out, and we reckon they will be fully prepared to defend their deck this time around.

The ruck battle will be an absolute beauty. Luke Jackson has been enormous all season around the ball, but Sam De Koning has been excellent covering the ground as a mobile ruckman too.

That might turn into a much tighter contest than most people think. This result will not surprise us either way, nor will we be shocked if Fremantle steamrolls another quality opponent to assert their dominance.

Head-to-head prediction: Fremantle Dockers by 11 points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

This one is honestly at the flip of a coin with so many prolific goal scorers lining up for both sides.

We have the likes of Treacy, Amiss and Voss at Fremantle competing against Jezza Cameron, Shannon Neale and Ollie Henry.

If in doubt, consult history and form.

Despite being far from his best season to date, he’s still sitting second on the Coleman Medal tally.

He’s got the runs on the board at this point - we’ll take Jeremy Cameron to open the scoring in this one, as we’ve seen so many times before.

Betting tip: Jeremy Cameron.

Most Disposals Prediction

Bailey Smith is always there or thereabouts when it comes to having the highest involvements in any given game.

We expect him to exploit the expanses of Optus Stadium once more this Thursday night.

With one of the best taggers in the league in Oisín Mullin likely to be all over Freo’s Andrew Brayshaw, the Dockers are unlikely to have anyone distributing numbers close to Bazlenka.

We’re thinking this will open the door for Bailey Smith to get the most touches in the West.

Betting tip: Bailey Smith.
