Collingwood Magpies vs West Coast Eagles Prediction - Round 11 2026

22/05/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

We are on the verge of Australian football history this weekend at the home of footy.

West Coast Eagles vs Collingwood Magpies in Round 11 will set the scene for Scott Pendlebury’s record-breaking 433rd game for Collingwood – the most games played in AFL or VFL history.

A Saturday at the MCG is where it all started for Pendles way back in 2006 where he came on against the Brisbane Lions; almost 20 years ago to the day.

What can you say about the man who’s truly done it all in the AFL?

Let’s skip the preview this week and just have a look back on some of Scotty P’s career highlights. Why not?

Scott Pendlebury Career Records & Achievements

-          Most career disposals: First player to break the 10,000-disposal milestone.

-          Most career handballs

-          Most career tackles

-          Most career Brownlow votes without winning; okay maybe he hasn’t actually done it ALL - but he’s still the GOAT.

-          Iconic bromance record: 332 matches with Steele Sidebottom; the most games played by any pair of teammates.

-          6 x All Australian selections, 4 x ANZAC Day Medals, Norm Smith Medalist & two-time Flag winner in 2010 and 2023.

-          Outright most games ever played in AFL or VFL history.

Tune into this one on Saturday afternoon at the MCG – or miss out on a piece of footy history.

Collingwood Magpies vs West Coast Eagles Match Predictions and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

As discussed; Pies legend Scott Pendlebury will break Brent Harvey’s record of 432 games as his Pies get a lovely matchup with the Eagles.

Pendlebury will headline the day, with 90,000 of the black and white army expected to attend the celebration. Typically, these massive milestones can be sapping for the individual, so perhaps don’t be surprised to see Pendles more relieved than anything once it’s all said and done.

West Coast were outstanding last week, upending GWS. They fed off the crowd and brought the pressure for 120 minutes.

Brady Hough has become a promising tagger inside a fortnight, and they also took out Lachie Whitfield at half back via Milan Murdoch. The group is growing under Andrew McQualter.

With three wins on the board, it’s hard to see too much more noise about McQualter’s place as Eagles head coach. This day, however, will be entirely about one man - Scott Pendlebury.

The Pies will be desperate to honour their champion and get back into the winner's circle in front of their home crowd.

Head-to-head prediction: Collingwood Magpies by 43 points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

We like Jamie Elliott for this one. He has a brilliant knack for reading the ball in the forward pocket and hitting the scoreboard early.

With the black and white army roaring, expect the midfield to look deep into the forward line from the opening bounce. He is highly likely to get fed by Pendles or Nick Daicos in space like we've seen so many times before.

Don't overthink this play as the veteran forward gets his side off to the perfect start in front of a sold-out MCG.

Betting tip: Jamie Elliott.

Most Disposals Prediction

We want to be putting our faith completely in Scott Pendlebury on his special day. The stage is perfectly set for the champion to dictate terms from the middle of the ground.

Similar to ANZAC Day against Essendon a few weeks back where Pendles racked up 43 disposals just for fun; we’re expecting him to turn it on here again and surprise everyone.

Pendles will be playing on pure emotion in this one; and has the experience to make this work for him.

As the player with the most disposals of all-time and the true legend that is Scott Pendlebury, it’d be sacrilege to tip anyone else here.  Even the AFL’s favourite son Nick Daicos.

Betting tip: Scott Pendlebury.
